-The Last Thing He Told Me Episode 1 Recap Does Contain Spoilers-
The Last Thing He Told Me Episode 1 starts with a brief introduction of Hannah and her software coder husband, Owen Michaels (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), as she starts to dismantle her smartphone (out of pure rage) and immediately looks for her teenage stepdaughter Bailey.
The above act of frustration becomes more clear in the present context, where Hannah and Owen are present in their home, alongside Bailey. While looking forward to a family lunch, where Hannah decides to please her stepdaughter in any way possible.
The domino sequence starts falling when Owen ventures off to work, leaving Hannah and Bailey at home and school respectively. Even though this looks like an everyday setting, the twist arrives when the latter stops attending to the calls or even replying to his messages.
Therefore, when Hannah senses something weird, she reaches Owen’s workplace where she witnesses the arrest of Owen’s associate cum boss. This immediately sends her into a frenzy, until she receives a note from a young schoolgirl (written by Owen), which mentions, “Protect Her”.

With the help of her journalist friend, Hannah gets some info regarding the situation, as she learns about the crash of an overpriced IPO and Owen’s involvement in the same. She finds out that her husband might have ran from the situation, while also leaving a sum of hard cash behind for her and Bailey.
The Last Thing He Told Me Episode 2 further leans into the stressful relationship between Hannah and Bailey, as the duo attempts to deduce the complete context behind Owen’s dissapereance. Moreover, the instalment also showcases multiple flashbacks regarding the relationship between Hannah and Owen.

The entire thing doesn’t make much sense to Hannah, as she starts doubting the real role of her husband, in the IPO fiasco. She even considers the prospect of blackmail or serious threats, which might have forced Owen to make such a decision.
However, Bailey remains stagnant about her dad’s honest intentions and believes him to be an honest guy. This further leads to a chaotic situation, when both of them get followed by unknown identities.
