The Killing Vote Episode 10 Recap

The Killing Vote episode 10 starts with Hyun sneaking around in Min-soo’s secret room and copying files from the room. She searches for more storage space in the room and realises that she is locked inside the room. As Min-soo starts to make her way out of work, Hyun and Jo-dan rush to find a way out, and she looks in his computer to find a switch or something. Suddenly, she comes across a folder called “Fun Folder”, wherein she finds a video of Woo-taek and Min-soo with Na-rae on the night Min-soo killed her. The entire video is on the tape, and its discovery leaves Hyun speechless.
Meanwhile, Min-soo is followed by a masked biker as Min makes her way to a cyber cafe to stalk Ji-hoon and then catches him in a lie. She follows him around while Hyun sends the heartbreaking video to Mu-chan, who is left speechless after watching it. He calls Hyun immediately, who tells her that the Killing Vote definitely shifted hands from Seok-joo to Min-soo somehow, and Mu-chan mentions that they can finally catch Min-soo with the evidence. This is when she informs him that she is stuck in the room and implores him to search the house immediately.

Elsewhere, Min confronts Ji-hoon and asks him why he is in front of Seok-joo’s house. He makes up a story about meeting Min-soo, and she doesn’t believe her. But before she can ask him whether he is Gaetal or not, she gets a notification that Hyun is nearby. Inside Min-soo’s house, Hyun gets the notification as well and immediately gets a call from her sister and finds Ji-hoon on the other side. Unfortunately, though, before they can talk, Min-soo drives up to his house, prompting them to run off and hide.
Ji-hoon realises that Min-soo might catch Hyun after he notices the night illuminating his room and is about to intervene when luckily, Min-soo gets a call from Ji-young asking him to run away as quickly as possible. Ji-young, having gotten the video, promises to handle everything while outside the house while Ji-hoon tells Hyun about Min-soo’s departure.

Elsewhere, it turns out that Jin-soo is the one who showed Ji-young the video and helped Min-soo escape. He mentions that Seok-joo won’t stop until he gets Min-soo, and he’s doing the same thing that happened to him all those years ago. Meanwhile, Min-soo, in a rare moment of calculated genius from him, decides to turn himself in to the police in order to escape Seok-joo’s hands. At Min-soo’s house, as she waits for the police to arrive, she realises that the computers are formatting by themselves but is unable to do anything to stop it.
Just as the formatting gets completed, Mu-chan walks into the room, but now it’s too late to do anything. Outside, after learning about Min-soo, he tells Gaetal No 3 to find the laptop at all costs while being confronted with Min asking him whether he is Gaetal. Meanwhile, Mu-chan and his team arrive at Na-rae’s crime scene and try to find clues as Jin-soo tries to dissuade him from doing so. However, Mu-chan seems to be distrustful of Jin-soo at this point, considering Min-soo’s timing of turning himself in.
After everyone from the team leaves, Mu-chan finds something odd on one of the pillars of the room.

Elsewhere, Seok-joo walks into a house, followed by Ji-hoon, who informs him that Min-soo turned himself in for murdering Na-rae. As the news leaves him devastated, the masked biker fetches Min-soo’s laptop from his car and walks off.
The next day, Ji-young strong-arms the police superintendent into going soft on her son and even portrays him to be an innocent child caught in the crossfire of Woo-taek’s perversion. Of course, Mu-chan isn’t pleased with this and gives all of them a piece of his mind. Meanwhile, Hyun and Jo-dan search for Min-soo’s missing laptop from his parked car but are unable to find it. At school, Ji-hoon breaks into the teacher’s lounge to deposit Min-soo’s computer but is caught by Hyun. She, however, is able to take the laptop with her.
Hyun and Mu-chan also make up but agree that although they might not gel the best, they still have to work together to bring Gaetal to justice. Afterwards, he tells her to look into Hye-jin and Ji-hoon’s secrets. That night, Seok-joo meets Do-hee at a bar and doesn’t let her leave until she hears his proposal – he confesses that he is Gaetal and is doing all this to catch Min-soo and Ji-young and wants to join forces with her in order to catch his daughter’s killers and, in turn, give her the highest ratings ever.

In the next scene, we see Do-hee doing a Killing Vote Special and bringing Seok-joo (disguised, of course) as the special guest. His presence leaves everyone shocked and confused. Seok-joo asks everyone to update the app on their phones and continue voting in order to impart radical justice and mentions that next week’s target would be a high school teacher with a penchant for murder. As the network people rush out to the studio to stop the broadcast, they realise that the entire thing was pre-recorded, and there’s no one there at the studio anymore.
As the news spreads like wildfire leaving parents concerned, Hyun meets Min-soo to give him a tracker, and he uses that opportunity to try and intimidate her. Unfortunately for him, with a glowing red target on his back, his days are now numbered, and she uses his fear against him to show him his place. Elsewhere, Mu-chan, while going through Ji-hoon’s information, realises that he is the tech-savvy unknown person whom they have been searching for. The revelation leaves Hyun absolutely dumbfounded.
At Hye-jin’s place, she tells Ji-hoon that she has grown fond of him over the years, but it is now time for her to give herself in to the police since they have also figured out her association with everything. She, thus, asks him to move to Germany so that he is not left alone again and can live his life. This breaks his heart, and he starts to sob. Elsewhere, Jin-soo informs Ji-young about Ji-hoon’s involvement.

The next day, one of Gaetal’s associates hands Min-soo something to drink, which has an immediate effect on him, and he falls to the ground. They rush him to the hospital, where another person, dressed as a doctor goes out to finish the task. He injects his saline bag with something and takes him out of his room and eventually out of the hospital. Elsewhere, Mu-chan and Jin-soo arrest Hye-jin for murder and implore her to stop Seok-joo so that he doesn’t have to face the death penalty. Interestingly, she mentions that Seok-joo died eight years ago.
We then shift to where Min-soo is being held, with all the Gaetals congregating to see his demise. Seok-joo asks Min-soo to repent and ask for forgiveness from all of his victims so that the people watching can see the regret in his eyes and change their vote. Seok-joo asks him why he murdered his daughter, and he mentions that he did that just to get his attention.
As the voting starts, Min-soo gets tortured by loud music, and he starts to insult the voters who control whether he lives or dies. What a weird flex. Anyway, it’s an overwhelming majority for getting rid of him, the music volume increases, and as he passes out, he realises that the last Gaetal is Ji-hoon. Elsewhere, Ko Dong-gyu makes a brave run for it but gets hit by a police vehicle and helps the police to Gaetal’s lair. Elsewhere, Hyun goes to find Ji-hoon at a cyber cafe and finds the restricted section.

As the police make their way inside the Gaetal lair, Seok-joo is left smiling out of happiness at Min-soo’s death and then strangles him for good measure. Mu-chan stops him and performs CPR to wake him up. At the cyber cafe, Hyun walks in and implores him to give up while Seok-joo tries to stop Mu-chan from bringing Min-soo back to life.
Both Hyun and Mu-chan are faced with a tough decision – should they do what is technically right or do what their hearts ask them to? Should Mu-chan bring Ji-hoon back to life, and should Hyun let Ji-hoon go?
The Killing Vote Episode 10 Review

With only two episodes remaining, The Killing Vote has ramped up the action on-screen with back-to-back revelations and dangerous situations which will make you feel some type of way. Although you know that Mu-chan is technically correct and no one should be allowed to murder others who have wronged them, but you still sympathise with Seok-joo and why he is doing what he is doing. His reasoning is airtight and his feelings genuine, and you can’t help but back him up in this situation.
The characters, throughout these episodes, have become quite close to our hearts at this point, and character development has become such that we empathise with all of their choices and decisions, except Min-soo’s, of course. At this point, the action is the biggest factor and whether or not Seok-joo will find some peace after 8 years! We can only wait and see.
The Killing Vote will air every week on SBS in Korea as well as on Amazon Prime Video in select regions.
