– The Interest of Love Episode 13 Recap Contains Spoilers –
The Interest of Love episode 13 starts right when Su-yeong called the mysterious person to meet up on that fateful night. We finally learn who this mysterious person is, and it does turn out to be Gyeong-pil. They did, in fact, go to a hotel, but it turns out everything was carefully orchestrated by the two of them. He even talked to Jong-hyeon to tell him that Su-yeong was spending the night with him.
She clearly took the inspiration for this brilliantly odd idea from Gyeong-pil, who simply couldn’t break up with Mi-gyeong and thus actually slept with her best friend to commit the ultimate betrayal. Now Su-yeong is doing the same thing with Jong-hyeon and Sang-su. She’s pretty sure she won’t regret this horrible decision.

The next morning at work, after the utter chaos blows over, the other employees are left to speculate what the heck is going on in the branch. Meanwhile, Sang-su simply can’t believe that Gyeong-pil would commit this betrayal against him. Undeniable proof, however, is enough to change his mind and he immediately hits him, asking why he would do such a thing. An annoyed Gyeong-pil leaves after asking him what is so different about what he did to Mi-gyeong.
Mi-gyeong, meanwhile, wants answers from Su-yeong, who is simply not interested to give her anything. Later, Sang-su’s rejection adds an extra layer of sadness for Mi-gyeong, who seems to be at her wit’s end about what to do. She catches up to Sang-su afterwards and tries to manipulate him some more, asking him whether he still likes Su-yeong after everything that happened in the morning. Sang-su tells her that he will talk about it later.
That night, as everyone tries to wrap their heads around the shocking incident, Su-yeong seems to be just a bit more free than usual. As she goes home, Sang-su follows her, which she does notice after he has left. At home, she finds Jong-hyeon drunk on the floor, with everything scattered all around. He asks her for a reason behind her actions, but she just apologises and asks him to move on to better things.
The next day, crap hits the fan harder when the entire incident finds its way out, thanks to a recording of it. The bank does its best to keep things under wraps and fires Jong-hyeon immediately, and Su-yeong goes on to partake in an interview for a transfer. Her interview answers are odd and would land anyone in hot soup if they did this in real life but hey, whatever.

Meanwhile, gross comments by a greasy employee from another branch enrage Sang-su, who chooses to fight back in the middle of a seminar. Right after he storms out, Su-yeong gets on the lift with him. He casually asks him about her interview, and his attitude gets on her nerves – why won’t he ask her gross questions like everyone else? She’s absolutely furious at his indifference.
Back at the office, however, Sang-su’s collar holding has reached everyone, and Mi-gyeong desperately tries to brush it under the carpet. However, not everyone is buying her words, and even Sang-su seems to be getting enough of her trying to cover for him. When they meet outside, thus, he asks her to do just that – leave her alone.
Later on, Mi-gyeong goes to meet Su-yeong but only finds Gyeong-pil there, who tells her to be happy that Sang-su and Su-yeong can never be together now. When she eventually does come across Su-yeong, she asks her why she did what she did. Su-yeong, however, doesn’t take her crap anymore and tells her that she never asked her to like or understand her, and she wants to feel comfortable for once.
As a last-ditch effort, Mi-gyeong asks her whether Sang-su ever meant anything to her, and Su-yeong chooses to not reply to her. Sang-su, meanwhile, finally meets Su-yeong that night and tells her the reason he hasn’t asked her anything is that he is afraid of losing her, of her using all of this as an excuse not to see him anymore.

Su-yeong asks him not to come to meet her anymore, but Sang-su promises to come back every day to face her. Sad, she walks off. On the other hand, Jong-hyeon boards a bus and leaves.
The next morning, a broken Su-yeong goes to meet her mother and, while having lunch, asks her whether they should just go home, leaving everything behind. On the other hand, Sang-su and Gyeong-pil meet to talk things over, and the former mentions that he doesn’t believe that they slept with each other.
Gyeong-pil tells his friend that he doesn’t know Mi-gyeong’s father and the ramifications of dumping his girlfriend for Su-yeong. It would have been scary if it ever went there. Sang-su doesn’t buy this explanation and, frustrated, Gyeong-pil tells him that there is no philosophical reason behind it all. It simply happened, and Su-yeong initiated it. Thus, he needs to get over himself.
The next morning, a concerned Mi-seon asks Mi-gyeong whether she is still after Sang-su after the latter refuses to tell her father the truth. When Mi-gyeong refuses to give up, her mother asks her where her pride is, and she tells her that this is her pride.

Later on, a frantic call lands Sang-su in the hospital when he learns that Mi-gyeong has fallen sick thanks to stress. She takes her IV out the moment she sees him, and the two go to his place, wherein he apologises for causing her pain and disrespecting her. He opens up to her about his feelings and his thoughts regarding dating her.
It’s an uncomfortable but necessary discussion, and it seems like his thoughts finally reach her. He’s sincere in his apology and asks her not to be hurt because of him. Mi-gyeong, for once, leaves without causing a scene. She takes the car that she attempted to gift him, signifying the end of their relationship. Mi-gyeong does end up breaking the car’s windshield though, but at least that is not in front of her sobbing ex.
The Interest of Love Episode 13 Ending
Meanwhile, Jong-hyeon is having a moment of his own wherein he takes out all of his books and starts to dump them on the streets. When she asks him why he is doing this, he asks her why she would hurt him like that. Whether she ever loved him or was it only pity. She simply tells him that their love came to an end, there was nothing else and tells her that everything that he heard was true regarding the rumour.
He calls her the classic B word and then leaves.
Back to the night when Su-yeong meet Gyeong-pil, she asks him why he is helping her, is it because of Mi-gyeong? He all but agrees with her statement. In the present, Sang-su holds an umbrella over a soaking and sobbing Su-yeong as they look at each other.
The Interest of Love Episode 13 Review

Ah the messy show just keeps getting messier, but I see light at the end of the tunnel. With the breakups now official, it seems like Sang-su and Su-yeong might just be able to start over. Unfortunately, though, knowing Su-yeong, she’s definitely going to try and sabotage the entire thing in one way or another. There is no way she embraces happiness that easily.
Mi-gyeong, meanwhile, has slowly become my most disliked character. It’s not just because of the manipulation and stuff, it’s because she has no self-respect whatsoever. She constantly begs and begs for Sang-su’s attention and love as if, if Sang-su tries hard enough, he will fall head over heels for her. It’s just pitiful and pathetic to watch.
Either way, as I mentioned in the previous episode, this is my favourite chaotic show that absolutely makes no sense. I thrive watching it, although this is a problem that can be solved within a day or two. We love ourselves a good amount of chaos in our lives!
The Interest of Love is streaming on Netflix.

I do wish suyeon couldve just talked to the toy cop. Even if he wasn’t doing anything with the study buddy he still wasn’t happy. That is a drag. But she should’ve just talked to him. Tbh she did the same thing to toy cop that sangsu did to migyeong. sangsu just admitted it and apologized.
Ngl tho i wouldn’t pass up a chance to call gyeongpil to a hotel room ????????????
