After having released numerous teasers and stills for the upcoming revenge drama series, Netflix has now put out the full trailer for The Glory, sneaking us into Moon Dong-eun’s (Hye-kyo) mind fuelled by the need to avenge her past. Starring Song Hye-kyo, Lee Do-hyun as Joo Yeo-jung, Im Ji-yeon as Park Yeon-jin, Park Sung-moon as Jeon Jae-joon, Yeom Hye-ran as Kang Hyun-nam, Jung Sung-il as Ha Do-young and more, the kdrama has been directed by Ahn Gil-ho with Kim Eun-sook joining as the screenwriter.
The trailer pits the gloriously lit world of other characters against the dark path chosen by Hye-kyo’s character. Promising to give them hell, she determines “From now on, every single day will be a nightmare.” No matter how hard they try to exclude her from the narrative, there’s nothing they can do now that will stop her from accomplishing what she’s already set her mind on.
Checking off her hit list, she pays a visit to every single person who’s done her wrong in the past, almost haunting them like a ghost, that they’re compelled to think back to the old times and recall their sins. Lee Do-hyun’s character soon joins in on her parade as he teaches her to play the strategic game of Go, which guides her plan along by gradually nearing in on the most important piece, yet closing in on all of them “silently, yet fiercely.”
While some come forward to claim that they’ve already repented for all that they’d done to her, she can’t be swayed away from her goal of concocting the perfect hell on earth for them. On the other hand, she also gains a few accomplices on her side. Some acquaintances still scoff at her and wish all things bad for her, while others can’t help but bow down to her, begging for mercy.
‘The Holy Tragedy’ will leave no one behind as they all “wilt and die together”. Hitting rock bottom builds an all new immoral play. How far will it take her, before it finally corrupts her soul as well?
