The fire department and medic are seen arriving at a scene of a hit and run along with the police. It was shocking for them to find out that the victim was a pre-adolescent met with a brutal accident. The more gruesome part about the accident was when they found out the little girl’s body was lying on the roof of the bus stop.

While taking her to the hospital, Song Seol had to perform an extremely risky procedure. The victim’s windpipe was blocked due to the impact, and she could not breathe. Hence, Song Seol immediately put an artificial respiratory device inside the moving ambulance. That very action saved the victim’s life.

Later the doctor makes an unusual discovery about the patient after the CT scan results are out. The victim already had multiple injuries in the lower part of the body, which were unrelated to the accident. The doctor accordingly informed the authorities, and they began considering it an abuse case along with the hit-and-run.

The police were successful in finding out the model of the possible car responsible for the hit-and-run. As they were following the car, the accused was trying to commit suicide in an underground parking spot. The fire department arrives and could save him right on time.

Upon further investigation, the police found out that the owner of the car and the victim’s mother were acquaintances. The mother was purposely injuring her child multiple times to claim insurance. The gruesome accident was also supposed to be one of those scams, but the plan did not work accordingly, and the child was severely injured.

The episode ended with all the officers meeting up and having dinner together. The Chief prosecutor and his employee were also seen having a heated argument about a plan that did not give results.

The First Responders Episode 4 Review

Needless to say that the episode was one of the best so far. What seemed like a simple case of the hit-and-run was much more complicated and developed consistently. The plot was unique and tight. The storytelling process helped the viewer understand the intricate medical terms used throughout the episode.

Kim Rae-won yet again stole the show in the lead role. With enough screen time to himself, he delivered a stellar and convincing performance. Gong Seung-yeon also stood out with the very less screen time she got. The other supporting actors also stayed committed to their roles and conveyed as the script demanded.

The use of medical props and the locations was also commendable. It gave the audience a realistic view of emergency rescue missions and kept them invested.
