The season opens with a lot of things – Srikant finally lands a new house and, within a few days, is invited to join a super hush-hush operation in Nagaland about Project Sahakar, which aims to bring peace in the North Eastern states to stop China’s invasion into the country. Elsewhere, Meera assassinates a young woman, Nasreen Baig, who accused Sameer of being involved in General Ansari’s death.

After Srikant lands in Nagaland, he and Kulkarni meet David Khuzou, and the three have a warm catch-up, although the meeting is marred when his grandson, Stephen, has a fight with them and refuses to sign the peace treaty. The next day, when they travel to the meeting, drug lord Rukam intercepts their convoy, killing everyone. Srikant and Kulkarni end up making a run for it, but their car is eventually blasted, and Kulkarni is killed as well.

Now in the hospital, Srikant starts to investigate the case in secret with his old team, and they quickly identify Rukma’s involvement as the main perpetrator. Realising that there is a mole in the department, he keeps things under wraps and eventually tries to tell the Prime Minister about it, but before that, he has to open up to Sambit about it. He refuses to believe him, pushing the notion that it was the MCA-S who was responsible for the attack.

Elsewhere, Dwaraknath shares his fears surrounding Srikant looking into Rukma with Meera, who promises him that everything is under control. As Meera looks into Srikant, Rukma’s house is attacked, and Nima ends up dying. As word reaches Meera, a rivalry starts between the two.

Eventually, Srikant becomes a suspect, forcing him and his family to go on the run.

In a surprising twist, we learn in episode 5 that there is not just one, but two moles leaking information to two different people, all for money. The first is Sambit, who has been in regular contact with Dwarkanath for the weapons deal to go through, and the second is
Yatish Chawla, who replaced Srikant to look into Kulkarni’s murder, has been leaking information to Rukma and Meera in exchange for money.

Yatish is eventually captured by Saloni and Zoya, and he confesses his crimes. Meanwhile, with the weapons deal negotiated between Dwarkanath and PM Basu, Sambit is ecstatic about a betrayal gone right

Towards the end of season 3, Meera’s identity is compromised, and she has to make a hasty exit when she goes to Myanmar to meet Rukma. He, meanwhile, captures a bunch of Indian soldiers and leaks the news to the press, causing a ruckus in the media and forcing Basu to take drastic efforts. Thankfully, Srikant, making his exit out of India into Myanmar, learns about Rukma’s plans and faces off against him. He frees the soldiers and eventually faces off against the drug lord. Unfortunately, he gets away.

What happens to Srikant?

Trying to find Kulkarni’s killers, Srikant realises that this is all Rukma and Meera’s doing and goes after the drug lord first. However, after they fight in the forest, he is gravely injured. With bullets flying everywhere, Rukma makes his escape and, bleeding badly, Srikant tries to drive back into India, but passes out before that in the forest. His fate is unknown as the series ends on a cliffhanger, so we will have to wait for the upcoming season to answer this question.

Is peace maintained in the end?

Throughout the season, it is made clear that the entire operation is something bigger than Srikant or anyone else could’ve imagined. We eventually see Srikant and his team joining the dots and finding out about Meera from Rukma. Meera, a fixer, is working with Dwarkanath and trying to create a desperate situation for India in the North East that will force them to agree to a weapons deal with him. Although it was not a possibility at first, Basu has no choice but to take up arms when a secret operation goes wrong and they are forced to retaliate.

The series ends on a cliffhanger, so the answers are not definite, but it becomes clear that war might be imminent as going after Myanmar will pull China into the fold as well, creating a horrifying situation for everyone. Thankfully, the soldiers are brought back safely, so that might mean that Srikant helped to quash an all-out war, but with the story still unfolding, it’s difficult to say anything definite.

  1. Family Man Season 3 left two major things unclear, especially Meera’s fate. The ending didn’t feel on the same level as the rest of the season. It almost seemed like the series was cut off midway. If Season 4 is coming soon, then this suspense makes sense. Otherwise, this season risks feeling like a disappointment compared to the earlier ones.

  2. Yeah, l searched on the internet and the other season will be out in 2028 and I feel like it’s not justified to leave the season ending on a cliffhanger like that. I do understand that you have to make the ending to have viewers come again to watch the next season but not to the point that the ending feels like half-assed. It’s kinda exasperating.
