The Elusive Samurai Episode 5 Recap

Today’s episode continues with Tokiyuki in a tense battle against Sadamune, both on horseback. The objective is clear: Tokiyuki must target either Sadamune or his dogs to earn the extra points needed to win the tournament. However, this proves to be incredibly challenging as Sadamune strategically positions himself in Tokiyuki’s blind spot, making it nearly impossible for Tokiyuki to land a direct hit. Additionally, Sadamune keeps crashing into Tokiyuki’s horse just as he tries to shoot at the dogs, putting our hero in a difficult situation with no clear way out.

Yorishige advises Tokiyuki to be both elusive and aggressive simultaneously. But how can someone shoot arrows while evading the enemy? There is one way, and Tokiyuki decides to try it. Thanks to his flexibility and natural evasiveness, he manages to shoot from angles that most wouldn’t even consider. This skill shines through when he successfully executes the famous Parthian shot, demonstrating his unique talent.

Sadamune, however, is not one to accept defeat quietly. He abandons the battle and races to the capital to obtain an imperial edict against the Suwa clan. The situation worsens when Sadamune quickly returns with an unjust order from the emperor. The only way to resolve this is to steal the emperor’s edict. Tokiyuki and his team of elusive warriors set out to find and recruit the notorious thief Genba, the only one capable of such a daring heist. But can they trust someone driven solely by money?

In the next episode, we might see Genba and Tokiyuki facing trouble after they go to steal the Emperort’s decree. Genba might seem like an untrustworthy kid, but I think he will be a good companion. Watch new episodes of this anime on Crunchyroll.
