The Devil’s Plan Season 2: South Korean Survival Series Renewal Status Updated!

Jung Jong-yeon’s creation of the South Korean brain competition on Netflix ensued a contest of wisdom and strategy in September-October 2023, but since then viewers have been waiting on the officials’ word regarding The Devil’s Plan Season 2 (블스 플랜) status update. The good news has just been delivered by the streamer as we can expect more brain games to test contestants and their wit soon enough. The first season consisted of 12 episodes, with the first four premiering on Netflix on September 26, 2023, and the final three on October 10, 2023, finally concluding the match between 12 contestants.

The Devil’s Plan Netflix series struck up the competition between 12 players hailing from various fields. Among them, some were well-established A-star celebrities from the Hallyu space, while a few non-celeb presences also humbled the mysterious and dark location of the show’s setting. These contestants were – Ha Seok-jin from Problematic Men, Korean professional Go player Cho Yeon-woo, freelance announcer Lee Hye-sung, actress and inventor Lee Si-won, Kpop idol SEVENTEEN’s Boo Seungkwan.

In addition to the aforementioned contestants, Seo Dong-joo – a MIT graduate and a lawyer in America with an MBA degree, comedian and actress Park Kyung-lim, Guillaume Patry – a Canadian gamer, now a professional poker player, Kwedo aka Scientist ORBIT – former policy advisor to the Blue House, and Kwak Joonbin – a travel YouTuber and a multilingual speaker – were also a part of this competition. On the other hand, two non-celebrity contestants of the show were Seo Yoo-min – American orthopaedic surgeon, and Kim Dong-jae – a college student, now a professional poker player.

In the end Ha Seok-jin of the South Korean variety series, Problematic Men, fame took the grand prize home and earned his much-deserved victory. Now, let’s move on to what to we know about The Devil’s Plan 2 so far.

Has The Devil’s Plan Season 2 Been Confirmed? When Is It Releasing?

As of November 6, 2023 (KST), the South Korean series has been renewed for a second season owing to the original season’s global success. The Korean series instantly earned its spot on Netflix’s Top 10 TV series in South Korea after its premiere. Not just that, it also held a strong contesting position in the Top 10 list of 23 countries, and ranked third in the Top 10 non-English TV Shows list.

Similar to Jung Jong-yeon’s previous creations like The Genius, and The Great Escape, The Devil’s Plan earned its glorious spot as one of the most unique reality TV series of the year 2023. Ultimately, the show’s “devilish” concept pushed the contestants to the edge as they felt compelled to show different sides to their personalities as the final resort to survive till the end.

The Devil’s Plan Season 2 release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we can expect yet another chapter of mind-blowing games in the near future. The show’s creator Jung Jong-yeon has also urged the fans of the show to “look forward to a completely new version of The Devil’s Plan. The new instalment’s contestants are yet to be announced too.
