The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 3 Recap Contains Spoilers

Governor Grotton and his team of Stormtroopers come to Desix to meet their Governor, Tawni Ames. The Governor informs Ames that he has come to relieve her of her title by order of the Galactic Empire. Ames tells him that Desix doesn’t fall under the Imperial Jurisdiction. The Governor tells her that their request was received and rejected. Tawni and her people threaten the Governor and his troopers.

We finally meet Crosshair, who’s kept at the facility by Admiral Rampart and is addressed as CT-9904. Rampart asks him about how he was left stranded at Kamino. The Admiral gives him the mission to go to Desix disguised as a diplomatic mission. Rampart tells him to do whatever he can to secure the city for the Empire and save Governor Grotton.

Commander Cody is leading the mission of Desix. Cody tells him many clones are questioning the Order 66 order against the Clone Force 99. Crosshair says that these clones are traitors, like the Jedi. On their way to Desix, Cody informs his team about their plan to secure Desix and Grotton.

As soon as the Empire ship comes in the atmospheric range of Desix, Tawni’s droid army starts shooting at them. They neutralise the airship on the ground. The droids believe that everyone is dead on the ship. However, Cody, Crosshair and some Stormtroopers attack them and come out safely to strike Tawni Ames. They all start attacking all the droids securing Tawni’s base. The droids put up a tough fight for Cody and Crosshair.

After defeating all the droids, Commander Cody and Crosshair threaten Tawni Ames to leave Governor Grotton. They tell Tawni that they’re here for peace, but Tawni tells them everything the Republic did wrong to them. She tells them that peace is never an option. Commander Cody drops his weapon and tells Tawni that it is an option now, and he wants no bloodshed. He requests Tawni that the Empire will benefit her people. Tawni frees Grotton, who tells the Commander to execute her.

Commander Cody tells Governor Grotton that he promised her a peaceful resolution. Grotton tells Cody that he personally made no such promise and orders him to execute Cody. Crosshair shoots and kills Tawni Ames. The Governor tells them to display her body at the square as a warning to others. The mission to secure Desix and Governor Grotton is complete.

After returning, Commander Cody asks Crosshair if they’re making the Galaxy better with the new Empire. Crosshair tells him that they’re soldiers and what needs to be done. Cody tells him that the difference between them and battle droids is that the clones have to make their own choices and live with them.

Vice Admiral Rampart again calls Crosshair for another mission. Crosshair asks why isn’t he giving the mission to Commander Cody. The Admiral tells him that Cody has gone AWOL.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 3 Review: Final Thoughts

With time, the Empire is only getting brutal, and that’s something we know. The new episode gave us an insight into how they colonised different places. The return of Crosshair was much-awaited, but the man shows no remorse. He is brainwashed entirely by the Empire and its questionable methods. He is loyal to them and would go to any extent to carry out a mission like a “soldier”.

It was good to see that through Commander Cody; they showed someone doubting the Empire’s ways. But now that Crosshair is back and knows everything, it would be interesting to see how he faces Hunter and others again. He has returned with more trouble and cruelty.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 3 is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
