The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 13 Review/Recap: Pabu

The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 13, called ‘Pabu’ is now out on Disney+ Hotstar. Star Wars animated series is created by Dave Filoni. Directed by Steward Lee, it is written by Amanda Rose Munoz. It features Dee Bradley Baker as Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, ECho and Crosshair. Michelle Ang voices Omega; Andy Allo features as Lyana Hazard, Wanda Skyes as Phee Geneoa and Imari Williams as Shep Hazard.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 13 Recap Contains Spoilers

In The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 13, Phee and Omega make a business deal with some people for artefacts. One tries to kill her with a creature, but Hunter saves her. Wrecker, Hunter and Omega fight these men. They tell Tech to get the ship and leave the planet. On the ship, Phee praises Omega’s fighting skills. She tells Hunter and Tech that she needs to learn more skills and make more friends her age.

Cid contacts them for not carrying out her mission and cutting ties. She threatens Hunter and others about the consequences of not carrying out her missions. Phee wonders what they will be doing next. She takes them to Pabu and shows them the Archium, where the artefact will be stored. The Archium stores treasures from all over the galaxy. 

The Mayor of Pabu, Shep Hazard and his young daughter Lyana come to greet Phee.  Phee introduces them to Hunter, Wrecker, Tech and Omega. Lyana tells Omega that Phee never brought her friends here before, not even Cid. Shep tells the clones that they all will join them for dinner.

Lyana shows Omega around, where Shep gives the village’s tour to Hunter, Wrecker and Tech. Phee tells them the villagers of Pabu are refugees. Hunter asks Shep if he’s not worried about the Empire finding the place. Shep tells him that they live on a remote island with limited resources. But if the Empire finds them out, they will manage them.

Lyana and Omega play with some creature called Moon-yos. Moon-yos existed even before Pabu was inhabited. Tech tells Wrecker and Hunter that he has never seen Omega laugh like this. Shep tells Hunter that there is no better place to raise a child than Pabu. Phee tells Hunter that it is something he should think about. They all have dinner.

Lyana wants to take Omega in her boat to watch the sunset. Omega asks Hunter if she can go, and he tells her to have fun. In the boat, Omega tells Lyana how she spent most of her life by the ocean. But it didn’t feel like this place. She tells Lyana that the Empire destroyed her place. Lyana tells Omega she’s safe on their island and that she and her friends can stay here. Omega tells her new friend that they never stay anywhere for long. Lyana asks Omega if she feels lonely. Omega tells her she never really thought about it.

Hunter senses that something is wrong. Suddenly, everything starts shaking. Lyana tells Omega that it is just a tremor and always happens. Hunter contacts Omega and asks if she’s okay; the duo heads back to the shore. Shep tells Hunter, Wreck and Tech that the tremors are a part of island life. But Hunter believes that it’s not over yet. There’s another powerful tremor which leaves Mayor Shep and others worried.

Tech informs everything that the island is no longer safe and is at risk for a significant sea surge. There’s another tremor, and the sea level starts lowering. Hunter and others decide to inform Lower Pabu about the upcoming threat. Lyana and Omega struggle to return to the shore as the tide pulls them back. The duo decided to jump out of the boat and swim to the shore. A giant wave (Tsunami)  is seen coming towards Lower Pabu. Hunter saves the girls, and Tech and Phee work together to help the people on the island. 

The next day, the people of Pabu were devastated as they lost their homes. Omega, Wrecker and Lyana are tired and fall asleep under the tree. Mayor Shep tells everything that they will rebuild Lower Pabu. Hunter asks Shep if they can all stay in Pabu and help them. Shep agrees.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 13 Review: Final Thoughts

In today’s episode, Hunter has realised how not only Omega but even deserve a normal life for some time. While it was heartwarming to see them not be a part of the deadly missions for once, one is left wondering where the story is moving!

The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 13 is now out on Disney+ Hotstar.
