The 100 Girlfriends Season 2 Episode 6 Recap

Here, the Rentaro family formed their very own baseball team, preparing to take on a formidable squad with passionate players. Their opponents, a boisterous group from Jurassic High School, have a history with Iku. This past encounter has only fueled their confidence, making them certain of their victory.

As the game kicks off, it quickly becomes clear that the Rentaro family is struggling. Iku is the only skilled baseball player on their side, and while her pitching keeps them afloat, her batting doesn’t fare as well. When her turn at bat arrives, she fails to connect with the ball. To make matters worse, the rest of the team also struggles to land a hit against Jurassic High School’s powerhouse pitcher. She is so strong that she’s shattering bats with her swings. Victory seemed within reach for Jurassic High School, but a critical misstep changed that.

Rapuko, the catcher, decides to take a psychological approach by targeting Shizuka, the most innocent member of the opposing team. Exploiting Shizuka’s vulnerability, she taunts and pressures her into doubting herself. As expected, Shizuka crumbles under the weight of her anxiety, making costly errors and breaking down in frustration. However, once the Rentaro family realizes what’s happening, they unleash their competitive spirit.

At first, it feels like Rentaro might find his 10th girlfriend right at the beginning of this episode. However, that doesn’t happen because today’s the day Rentaro and all his girlfriends are going for their much-awaited group date at the karaoke. Here, everybody takes their turn to sing their hearts out and enjoy their time, but one person is reluctant. Shizuka has always been very shy around others, and this time, as well, she doesn’t know how to participate in singing as she has never sung in front of anyone ever.

However, when she does get the courage to sing, the result becomes devastating. No, it’s not bad, it’s just too unbelievably cute for others to withstand it. Aijo and Hahari get literally blown away, and others try their best to stay on the ground. Things turn so deadly that Meido opens her eyes and starts seeing the world how Hahari sees it. Reijo, however, finally controls the situation. This section was absolutely hilarious.

However, this is not the end, as Reijo does get his 10th girlfriend in the latter half. Mimimi is a narcissistic beauty who cannot help but admire herself. But she’s not vain, as she really does work hard to achieve her perfection. Their date does not go very smoothly, and we get a twist towards the end. Mimimi has an unlikely rivalry with one of the members of the Rentaro family group.

As usual, this episode was very entertaining, with tonnes and tonnes of references from other shows. One of my favorites was the Laputa: Castle in the Sky reference.

I loved today’s episode as it started off as cute and light-hearted but then gravitated towards its usual silly situations, where Aijo gets a girlfriend. These girls surprisingly do not mind being a part of the harem and are always very eager to join the community that Aijo has created.
