That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3, aka, Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken 3rd Season or simply Tensura 3, is a Japanese light novel illustrated by Kawakami Taiki and written by Fuse. The series initially gained a following through online serialization from 2013 to 2016 on the user-generated novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō.

Micro Magazine picked up the series in 2014, subsequently releasing its first light novel volume. Fast forward to October 2023, and the series boasts an impressive 21 volumes. Yen Press secured the licensing rights for the North American market, debuting the first volume in December 2017. Additionally, Tensura has made its mark in the manga world, courtesy of Kodansha.

The opening theme, “PEACEKEEPER,” is performed by STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION, while the ending theme, “Believer,” is sung by Rin Kurusu. The third season of the show premiered on April 5, 2024, on Nippon TV, its affiliates, and BS11.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 2 Review How To Deal With Rimuru

From the time Rimuru becomes a demon lord, defeats the Falmus Kingdom and kills demon lord Clayman, things have become very intense. We are seeing all the different outcomes of whatever Rimuru did and now we witness a slowly changing society that must make way for Rimuru and Veldora.

At the beginning of the episode, we see how the demon lord Kazaream and his subordinates discuss what they must do now that Clayman is dead. They are more than angry about this whole thing as Clayman was not just a pawn to them and hence, they plan to calculate their next move against Rimuru correctly. They realised that Clayman was defeated because he was not cautious enough.

He should not have gone off the charts with his showing off and should have waited like how Laplace had told him. This is why Yuuki suggests they do not outright meddle with Tempest, but poke Rimuru a little. Now how are they going to do that is something that we will have to wait and see. My guess would be that Yuuki will try to manipulate Hinata and make her fight Rimuru.

Hinata, on the other hand, before knowing about Rimuru’s acceptance as the demon lord, is also having similar thoughts. How should she deal with Rimuru? Plus, she also gets to know about the death of Demon Lord Roy. Her monologue was very interesting to watch as we see why vampires had to form a nation and become willing to go to great lengths to have good relationships with humans.

We also get a clear picture of why someone upright and dutybound like Hinata is serving the vampire demon lord Luminous Valentine. They too discuss amongst themselves how they should go on about Rimuru and Veldora.

Verdict

This season has been very politically intriguing right from the start as we are seeing how the presence of Rimuru is becoming a threat for many nations. He is not just a happy-go-lucky slime anymore as almost everybody is aware of him. Yes, most of the people who meet him do love him but there are also people who fear him.

But one thing is for sure, almost everyone is scared of Rimuru’s power which they should be for obvious reasons. Rimuru will definitely not let anyone off the hook if they try to hurt his friends and family which is why things will become more interesting in the upcoming episodes. I love how the world-building of Tensura is becoming more serious. The storyline is really packed and by the end of each episode, you wish to see what happens next.
