The Twitterverse is quaking as Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj come together once again with Thalapathy67, the tentatively titled film teased by the filmmakers. After their successes together with Master, they found it best to collaborate once again and complete the trifecta that had given birth to this interesting partnership in the first place.
According to the statement released by the Seven Screen Studio, this film will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by SS Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy. Music directed by Anirudh Ravichander, the film will be shot by Manoj Paramahansa. As of now, the only information fans have is that the film has begun shooting since January 2, 2023.
Thalapathy67 Announcement
Previously, Vijay had worked with the director and studio in Master, where he played a teacher going to school to teach kids in juvenile prison. This film stars Thalapathy Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Arjun Das, alongside other cast members.
Produced by the same Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy, this film was a masala movie intent on giving action-packed drama and fun. It told the story of a lorry driver contesting in the Union elections to become the head while also involving an alcoholic professor kicked out after an incident turned him into a threat within the institution. It shows the brutality of the prison system and also the barbarity and inhumane behaviour that is present in jail cells.

The master is hired to make sure these guys are guided through the system well and grow up to be productive members of society instead of going right back to their criminal shenanigans. In Varisu, his role has changed, working with the same production studio. However, with a different director, Vamshi Paidipally, this movie tells the story of a man who is about to lose his foster father, causing waves in the lives of the family members.
When Vijay, estranged from his family, comes back in order to celebrate his father’s one last birthday, he finds that things have become worse within the family. His brother has been cheating on his wife and neglecting his teenage daughter, while his other brother owes a lot of money to another man, money he doesn’t have. While Vijay didn’t want to join the family business initially, his brothers’ incompetence, their lack of respect for the family, and his father’s impending death convinced him to do this for the family.
This film starred Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna, R Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Srikanth, Khushbu, Yogi Babu, Jayasudha, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, Nandini Rai, Ganesh Venkatraman, Sriman, VTV Ganesan, John Vijay, Bharath Reddy, Sanjana, alongside other cast members.
While there isn’t any news regarding what this film could be about, it is highly probable that the action adventure will not be toned down. Additionally, the kada is making a comeback in this film, referring back to Master, available on Amazon Prime Video. As the announcement mentions, the cast and crew of the film will be revealed soon.
