Tell Me Lies Episode 6: And I’m Sorry If I Dissed You
Tell Me Lies Episode 5 gave us a lot of trauma to deal with, starting from the revelation about Lucy’s mother cheating on her dying father with Lucy’s boyfriend to Stephen’s complicated family dynamics and his finding out about Diana and Wrigley hooking up in Freshman year. However, the one thing that kept everyone on the edge of their seats was the drawing that linked Macy and Stephen found by Lucy. Tell Me Lies Episode 6 tries to deal with the aftermath of it all.
In the sixth episode, we see Lucy almost being done with Stephen after finding out the drawing of the rose at Macy’s memorial, with ‘almost’ being the keyword here. Of course, initially, Lucy is determined to keep Stephen off her charts because he is clearly lying about some things to her. But, the game does not go really well once the two sit down for confrontation. It is the first time we not only see Stephen cry as he reveals his connection to Macy but, we also find out about the reality of the situation on the fateful night of Macy’s death. Yet how much of the revelation is the truth remains for us to decipher.
As for Stephen, his relationship with Diana starts to turn sour than toxic. He is clearly angry about her sleeping with Wrigley and that creates a strain on the friendship Stephen shares with the latter. To add fuel to fire, it is Evan and the segments he shares with Lucy that keep us guessing about where he stands in his future wedding with Bree.

Tell Me Lies Episode 6 tries to give us screen time shared by characters we have never seen before- Evan and Lucy, Pippa and Stephen. It is refreshing and gives us a new perspective on the story as well as makes us understand the foundation of the future dynamics the characters are going to share. It is also the episode that gives Lucy the edge.
The introduction of Lucy’s new roommate, Charlie, creates space for more drama as well as understanding in the future. But, it is just a sore prediction as the character can very well turn into a side piece, which, unfortunately, seems to have happened to Bree. The series is clearly losing its focus on more loveable characters and giving us a deeper dive into the toxic ones. Is it a good move? Well, only, time will tell us.
Tell Me Lies Episode 6: Final Thoughts
Overall, Tell Me Lies Episode 6 has given the Christmas conundrum a toxic yet sweet turnover. The confrontation between Lucy and Stephen definitely marks the beginning of the cracks in our leads’ relationship. Also, the angle Pippa shares in the story with both Lucy and Stephen puts her in a dicey place with the characters as well as the audience. Nevertheless, the episode tried to deviate from the routine and give us something teenage-like and, it is surely successful in that.
