Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 5 Reactions: Another Big Win for LGBTQ+ Representation; Inspiring Speech Marks a New Beginning

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 5 reactions are out on Twitter now that the episode premiere has hit the fans of the show in the feels. The Apple TV+ series has been developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly. It stars Sudeikis as Lasso, Hunt as Coach Beard, Hannah Waddhingham as Rebecca Welton, Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins, Phil Dunster as Jamie Tartt, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Nick Mohammed as Nathan Shelley, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, and Anthony Head as Rupert Mannion alongside others.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 5, titled ‘Signs’, dropped on the streaming platform on April 12, 2023. Its official synopsis reads: “With their season in a tailspin, Richmond try to right the ship against the mighty Manchester City. Off the pitch, everyone faces their own setbacks.”

Episode 3 introduced us to the first LGBTQ+ portrayal in the series by bringing Colin’s sexuality as a gay man to light. The latest episode takes a step ahead in this representation by making room for a relationship between Juno Temple’s Keeley Jones and Jodi Balfour’s Jack Danvers. The latter was only brought into the show during the previous episode as Keeley’s boss, and fans instantly grasped at the underlying sapphic hints in their unlabelled dynamic.

With episode 5, the same has been confirmed, as the show’s regular viewers can’t stop raving about the two actors’ shared on-screen chemistry. While many still lament the Roy-Keeley breakup, they’ve already warmed up to the idea of Keeley falling for Jack. However, others are weighing in on the matter by digging deeper into the case and speculating that this mere fling has been orchestrated by the writers for Keeley ultimately get back together with Roy.

Regardless of what happens, the present scenario has the fans leaving messages like “the Gays keep winning” and rejoicing at the new turn of events. It looks like Trent Crimm is the president of this agenda, as he was seen carrying his rainbow mug in this episode. On the other hand, in TedBecca land, some more probable hints of them being the show’s endgame were scattered through the episode run. Still, the road for people romantically shipping this unit looks rocky and angsty ahead.

Moreover, Ted’s evolution as a character has been loved by everyone on Twitter. Netizens took the time to chart out his trajectory this season, further revealing how he came to accept himself as a “work in progmess”, and finally taking down the ‘Believe’ sign to push for the actual concept of Belief and its different layered meanings among the Richmond players. The upcoming episode has turned into a highly anticipated event now that things are finally taking a turn for the better, especially for Ted.
