Tastefully Yours Episode 2 Recap

The episode opens a few years ago when Yeon-joo had taken her restaurant space for rent after not even looking inside. Back in the present, she serves up a wonderful menu to Beom-woo, who puts forth a contract to help her with the money that she owes. He presents many copies, and she tears every one of them and tells him that she isn’t going to let him acquire her restaurant, but he can invest in it.

When he refuses to comply, she says that she will think about it if he works at the restaurant. Just then, he gets a text that his operating funds will be cut off in a few days, putting pressure on him to rush the deal. With no other option, they come up with a contract that they both agree to. Of course, working in close quarters has its demerits, and they bicker about every little thing as they start to work together.

Eventually, Beom-woo proposes some necessary changes to make the restaurant more accessible for everyone. Agreeing with him, Yeon-joo hires Jin Myeong-sook, whom she randomly comes across during a shopping trip. On the other hand, Beom-wook realises that his company credit cards have been cut off, and he has to make desperate attempts to find housing.

Tensions rise among the three employees as they butt heads over the standards. After a blowout fight, Beom-woo, Myeong-sook and Yeon-joo manage to come to terms with each other’s wants and needs and try to work together for the sake of the restaurant. A little bit of understanding goes a long way, and eventually, they find their pace with each other. In the course of this, Beom-woo makes some friends, which results in the restaurant getting a ton of customers thanks to his smart marketing. Yeong-joo can’t help but look lovingly at Beom-woo.

After a tiring day, just as they are about to go out for a team dinner, their paths are stopped by Shin Chun-seung, who tries to convince Myeong-sook to come back to her old job. He then lets slip everything that she has claimed has been offered to her, leaving Beom-woo and Yeon-joo stunned. She opens up about her previous job, which results in Yeong-joo offering her the chef position.

After getting very drunk together throughout the night, Beom-woo calls Young-hye and promises to destroy her for leaving his restaurant while Chun-seung, also drunk, stumbles over and demands to get Myeong-sook back. As he tries to grab Yeong-joo, Beom-woo intervenes, and the two drunk men pathetically pull each other’s hair. In the end, Yeong-joo intervenes and pushes Chun-seung to the ground, leaving Beom-woo stunned.

Tastefully Yours Episode 2 Review

Tastefully Yours Episode 2: Go Min-si, Kang Ha-neul
Tastefully Yours Episode 2: Go Min-si, Kang Ha-neul

Two episodes in, and I am already thoroughly impressed with Tastefully Yours. Although the storyline seems to be going in quite the usual direction, the beautiful cinematography gives a rather warm, homey feel to everything, especially inside Jungjae. I found myself drawn to the small wins and the love that people shower on each other, despite their flaws. I think this one’s going to be a tear-jerker and, if not, definitely an entertainer. Time will tell!
