Suchwita Episode 5: BTS’ Suga and Epik High’s Tablo Get On the Time Machine and Discuss Previous Collaborations

Suchwita Episode 5 features Epik High’s Tablo as he is welcomed by the host Suga on his drinking talk show, as his role model and someone who has now become a really good friend. In the released teaser, we saw Tablo with a BTS figurine and asking for his autograph on it, and it turns out that’s the first thing the guest whips out and gets signed.

It’s for his daughter Haru, who is also a BTS fan and soon after the two start talking about the time they saw each other last. The conversation then smoothly goes over to the choice of drink tonight, as the guest is asked to bring them. Tablo’s choice is Irish slammer and the two rappers soon shot down one drink each after mixing everything together. Suga also mentioned drinking the same drink with his member Jungkook in Bon Voyage in Malta.

Getting on the time machine, the host mentions that it’s Epik High’s 20th anniversary and how he used to be an active member of their fan club, as a teenager. Tablo also shares his side of the story that among all the members of their fan club, the BTS rappers – Suga and RM are the only ones with such a successful careers.

Tablo however hesitant to talk about his years-long career, as it makes him feel old, he thanks the host for always texting and appreciating their songs while listening. He adds his concern about getting forgotten by coming generations but fans like the BTS members make it worthwhile and make him enjoy their music as well.

While Suga expresses how he often looks at Tablo’s music and lyricism for inspiration, the conversation slowly shifts to how passionate both Suga and RM are about music, when talking with Tablo. He recently featured in a collaboration song All Day for RM’s album Indigo and his group has also released a new album called Strawberry.

A funny anecdote is shared about the album, how ARMYs started sharing pictures and memes of Suga with strawberries when Epik High’s album was announced. At this Suga mentions his member Jin and his uncle’s strawberry from where the pictures might have come. While talks continued about music and wanting to work with the artists they like, the episode ends on future dreams and wishes.

Also, a preview for the next episode was attached at the end, and it’s definitely a guest that nobody would have expected in one frame. Acclaimed actor Lee Sung-min, who was last seen in the Kdrama Reborn Rich, starring Song Joong-ki was seen to be taking the seat next. Considering both the actor and the host are from the Daegu region, it will be interesting to see them connect.
