Study Group: Everything to Know about Hwang Min-hyun’s Upcoming Thriller Comedy Kdrama!

Hwang Min-hyun is back to lead yet another Kdrama and we cannot be more excited! Study Group (스터디그룹) is the actor’s upcoming thriller comedy show and we are already holding high expectations after the many teasers that have been brought out. The show is a drama adaptation of a popular Webtoon which has got both fans of the Webtoon and the actor excited for the upcoming drama.

The plot of the show follows a student who wants to be good at studying but is only good at fighting. He later forms a study group at the worst school in town and begins his journey towards the dreaded college entrance exams. With some action and some thrill, this show is set to be an entertainer unlike any other.

Study Group Plot

The plot of the Kdrama follows the student Yun Ga-min who looks like a model student but is unable to show the same when it comes to his grades. Despite studying hard and diligently, he is unable to bring better grades and with the college entrance exams getting close, his desperation to do better only increases. Adding on to this, studying at the school which is known to be among the worst schools to study at, only makes matters worse for him.

Despite all this, he forms a study group to help counter his bad grades. But when his study group friends are bullied by others, Ga-min doesn’t hesitate to remove his glasses and show them what he is good at. Despite having no talent in studying, Ga-min is talented when it comes to fighting and he doesn’t hesitate to show some moves when his friends are bullied.

Entering this mess is Ga-min’s teacher who hopes to see the school change for the best. She had once tutored Ga-min when she was in university, and reuniting with this student was something she didn’t expect. While she works hard with Ga-min to do the best for the school, a secret hides behind her smiling face.

Showing the tough life of a High School student and the fierce competition of the college entrance exams, this is a show that is filled with action, thrill, comedy and drama that you don’t want to miss!

Study Group Cast

Directed by Lee Jang-hoon, the drama stars Hwang Min-hyun as Yun Ga-min, Han Ji-eun as Lee Han-gyeong, Cha Woo-min as Phi Han-ul, Shin Soo-hyun as Lee Ji-u, Lee Kwang-hee as Jung Do-hun, Lee Jong-hyun as Kim Se-hyun and other cast members. 

The My Lovely Liar and Alchemy of Souls actor Hwang Min-hyun is back with his magic to once again play an intriguing character that we are sure to love. Different from his past roles, he makes his return as a nerdy yet tough guy who knows how to fight. Alongside him is When the Stars Gossip actor Han Ji-eun and Night Has Come actor Phi Han-ul.

Study Group Release Date and Time

Study Group will be released on TVING every Thursday at 08:30 AM IST where it will be available for streaming for audiences around the world. The show will also be available for streaming on Viki for audiences worldwide. The show is set to release on January 23rd, 2025 and will continue until February 20th, 2025. The show is set to release two episodes per week during this time.
