Strong Girl Nam-soon Episode 16 Reactions: The famous hit South Korean drama Strong Woman Do Bong-soon (힘쎈여자 도봉순) spin-off series Strong Girl Nam-soon (힘쎈여자 강남순) of the is directed by Kim Jung-Sik and written by Baek Mi-Kyeong. Starring Lee Yoo-mi, Kim Jung-eun, Kim Hae-sook, Ong Seong-wu and Byeon Woo-seok in the lead roles, the series will follow a young girl named Nam-soon and her immense strength being used for the good. The series is produced by JTBC and is distributed by Netflix.
The series takes up the story of Bong-soon’s sixth cousin, Kang Nam-soon (Lee Yoo-mi) who has similar strength to her cousin. After getting lost in Magnolia, Nam-soon returns to South Korea to find her family. She successfully finds her mother (Kim Jung-eun) and grandmother (Kim Hae-sook) but little does she know, the trio are in for a big treat.
Lee Yoo-mi made it big after her pivotal role in Squid Game (2021). She was last seen in All of Us Are Dead (2022). Kim Jung-eun’s last ventures are Missing: The Other Side (2020-2023) and DNA Mate (since 2022). Kim Hae-sook’s latest work was Revenant (2023). Speaking of Ong Seong-wu, he was last seen in the movie Starlight Falls (2023) while Byeon Woo-seok’s latest project was Soulmate (2023).
Strong Girl Nam-soon Episode 16 had nothing but disappointment to offer. The episode starts off with Shi-o and Nam-soon’s tiny face-off before he escapes after Hee-sik arrives. All three women are admitted to the hospital and recover in just a day. The next day itself they go to fight the bad guys. Shi-o is hunted by Pavel and his close friend Binbin gives him the gun to kill himself at the request of Shi-o as he doesn’t want to get betrayed by his best friend.
When Nam-soon and the police arrive they witness Shi-o shooting himself, dying in vain. The drug case gets solved, the detectives are promoted and Nam-soon gets recruited by the police department. Hee-sik proposes marriage to Nam-soon and Joong-gan and Jun-hee also decide to take their relationship to the next level. Meanwhile, Geum-ju figures that Nozh is none other than Song Bread.

The episode failed to captivate the hearts of the viewers and spoiled the entire plot. How can they make Shi-o die just like that given he is the main villain of the series? Though Song Bread is the mastermind, all the while Shi-o had the power. Atleast there could have been a strong battle and he could have escaped somewhere for another season or simply get arrested. Making him kill himself is the most unsatisfying ending ever.
Moreover, the character of Shi-o had a lot of chances to have character development but the creators decided to rush his ending and make space for the other characters’ happy scenes. Not a single scene was shown to genuinely give Shi-o the chance to make things work out. He is a cruel villain who could have been arrested and corrected but nevertheless, his character was cowardly ended only to later make him look like a villain with a sad past.
The writers added scenes showing how Shi-o bought the land that brought up orphans and how he took care of his biological father who abandoned him. Why? Just why were these shown in the end when Shi-o’s character could have been developed using all the possible good things in him? Also, why is Song Bread’s character revealed as the strongest when the smartest was Shi-o? Literally, Shi-o could have easily escaped as well given the network he has.
