Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 5 Recap: On a Rampage

Star Wars: The Bad Batch episode 5 released on Disney+ Hotstar today. In the previous episode, a bounty hunter was trying to get hold of Omega. But Hunter, Echo, Wrecker and Tech managed to save her and escaped in their ship. In today’s episode Rampage, directed by Steward Lee and written by Tamara Becher-Wilkinson, we get to see what’s coming next for the five of them. The duration of today’s episode is less than 25 minutes, but a lot happens in such a limited time.

We will tell you if you still haven’t figured out who the bounty hunter from the previous episode was. The bounty hunter was Fennec Shand, one of the notable characters in Star Wars and Disney+ Hotstar’s other web show, The Mandalorian. However, she doesn’t make an appearance in The Bad Batch Episode 5 Rampage.

After getting out safely from Pantora, Echo tells the Bad Batch that they should go to Ord Mantell, where a Jedi informant named Cid will tell them who the bounty hunter is. They also give Omega a Comm machine to contact the men whenever she’s in trouble. When they arrive at Ord Mantell, Cid makes a deal with them. Cid tells them that she will give them information about the bounty hunter only if they carry out a mission and rescue someone.

Hunter and his team realise that they have no choice but to agree with Cid. Along with information, Cid also promises them to give some money from the mission. I am not revealing who they have to resue in my The Bad Batch Episode 5 Recap. But Cid mentions a pivotal character from the film Star Wars: A New Hope. So who do Hunter and his men have to save? What will Cid tell them about the bounty hunter? You will have to watch the episode to know the same.

With every episode, the harmful influence of the Empire can be seen. If numbers for people wasn’t enough, slave trading has made its way too. Everyone’s favourite Darth Vader aka Anakin Skywalker, and his mother Shmi were slaves on Tatooine, owned by junk dealer Watto. We all know it’s a bad practice, and Empire has brought it back. The Bad Batch Episode 5 was engaging, and hence, the duration bothers you because you want more.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 5 Recap: Is it worth watching?

Today’s episode was action-packed compared to the previous one. Yet again, we witnessed how smart Omega is compared to these grown-up men. While she and Wrecker share a cute equation, Hunter’s concern towards her shows that he is now acting as a protective father. While the Empire wants the Bad Batch, there’s a threat to Omega’s life too, from forces and people unknown. In the coming episodes, Cid might either be helpful to Hunter to betray him.

*Spoiler Alert*

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 5 talked about how powerful Fennec Shand is. When Cid talks to Hunter about Shand, she says, “She’s new to the scene but has already proven herself to be cunning and ruthless.” This hints that Shand won’t stop, and someone powerful is paying her to get hold of Omega.
