Squid Game Season 2: Director Hwang Dong-hyuk Opens About the Upcoming Sequel

Squid Game was a show that is hard to forget as we continue to keep wanting more from the series that we couldn’t leave behind after the ending that teased us. The Lee Jung-jae starter was a hit among viewers for a long time and we have been asking for a season 2 since then.

Though a sequel has been confirmed for Squid Game it is only recently that directed Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed to us that he has finally completed the script and filming of the same is to start soon. And once again Lee Jung-jae’s character Sung Ki-hoon is set to lead the show.

Squid Game season 1 was seen through the point of this very character and we have loved the intense games that changed our views on some of our favourite childhood games. The set, the plot and the actors had all given us an incredible show that blew our minds because the concept was so fresh and entertaining.

According to director Hwang Dong-hyuk, Squid Game season 2 will once again be seen from Lee Jung-jae’s point as he sets out for his revenge while making use of the things he has learnt from season 1. He is no longer the naive character from the first season and it is not just his new looks with the fiery red hair that have changed.

Season 2 will also see the return of Lee Byung-hun, the man who oversees the game and is the brother of the policeman who infiltrated the site of the games. Gong Yoo will also be making his return along with new characters because season 1 killed most of the characters already.

However, you may see more familiar faces but this is not yet set in stone. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk didn’t miss teasing us once again as he pointed towards the probability that this might not be the last season of the brutal games. And let’s face it, we wouldn’t mind more seasons of the games that shook us to the core.
