Spy x Family Season 3 Overview

The third season of Spy × Family marks another exciting chapter in the beloved anime’s run, produced once again through the collaboration of Wit Studio and CloverWorks. Announced during a special event in June 2024, the new season introduces Yukiko Imai as the director, taking over from Kazuhiro Furuhashi and Takahiro Harada. Despite the change in direction, the core production team and voice cast have returned to continue the story fans have grown attached to.

This season resumes the adventures of master spy Twilight, who continues his undercover mission under the identity of Loid Forger, a psychiatrist maintaining a carefully constructed fake family. Alongside him are his telepathic daughter Anya, his assassin wife Yor, better known as the Thorn Princess, and their loyal dog Bond, who possesses the ability to foresee the future.

Premiering on October 4, 2025, the season opens with the theme “Hi o Mamoru” (“Protect the Light”) by Spitz, directed by Shingo Natsume, while the ending theme “Actor” by Lilas Ikuta beautifully wraps up each episode.

For global audiences, Spy × Family Season 3 is available on Crunchyroll outside of Asia, while Muse Communication handles licensing and distribution across various Asia-Pacific regions. With its blend of action, comedy, and heartfelt family moments, the new season plans to capture the charm and intrigue that made the series a worldwide favourite.

This episode begins with a fun day out at the park for the Forger family. Here, Anya runs around, has ice cream, and even thinks of getting some balloons. However, her fun stops right at that moment because she sees a vision that Bond acquires. In this vision, someone controlling Heavy Machinery goes berserk and flings trees at random people for no reason. Anya then finds out that there is a man who was not given any holiday, and from exhaustion, he becomes mad that people are enjoying themselves. Thus, he plans to hurt them later.

After convincing her parents that she wants to go home, Anya comes across the labourer and very intelligently points him out to Loid. He immediately realises that there is something very wrong about this person, and Loid goes to stop him from committing any more destruction. Yor also showcases tremendous strength in this segment by saving an old man and swiftly kicking a whole building in the process. But hilariously, even after saving the day like this, Anya could not save herself from homework and studies.

The second half of this episode was a lot more action-heavy as Fiona goes on a mission to collect some information. She even gets in contact with Frankie, and together they search for someone who can forge a document. The chemistry between Fiona and Frankie is weirdly very good, and I preferred seeing them together to having Fiona constantly dream about Loid. If they really do end up being together, I will not be mad.

Today, we got a mixture of action and a wholesome episode. I like the light-hearted first half and loved the second half even more. It will be interesting to see what new elements this season will have to offer. Other than that, I am excited for the upcoming episodes that should include more story.
