Spider-Man: No Way Home: Did Sony Confirm SpiderVerse? Excited Fans Think So

After Eternals, MCU’s Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the major films that is all set to release this year. The trailer was released in August and caused excitement among the fans. The film starring Tom Holland in the leading role is set after the unfortunate worldwide revelation of Peter Parker’s identity as the Spider-Man. As seen in the trailer, we also see him dealing with multiversal trouble, thanks to Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch).

If there’s one rumour about Spider-Man 3 that’s refusing to die, it is about the SpiderVerse. Even before the cast and crew started filming, there were speculations that Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield would reprise their Spider-Man characters. While the actors have time and again declined the rumours, fans don’t want to give up. After watching the trailer and seeing some iconic villains like Doc Ock, Green Goblin and apparently Sandman returning, fans think that’s Toby and Andrew will appear.

If Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer failed to give any confirmation, fans found their way to add more to the rumours with a tweet. Recently, Sony Pictures UK tweeted three spider emojis. Some Marvel fans think that with these three spider emojis, the production house is confirming SpiderVerse. #SpiderManNoWayHome is also one of the top trends on Twitter currently.

One fan wrote, “ony themselves just confirmed the SpiderVerse #SpiderManNoWayHome”. Another tweeted, “Looks like Sony is teasing some #SpiderManNoWayHome”.

Meanwhile, there are reports stating that Spider-Man: No Way Home runtime is going to be very long, considering the storyline. Earlier, on The Jimmy Fallon show, Andrew Garfield was asked whether he is a part of the film. He was also asked about a photo of him and Tobey that had gone viral. The actor answered, “I had no idea. What are you talking about? I heard about it and I did see it. It is photoshopped. I have seen the trailer and I am excited. I think Tom Holland is just the perfect Peter Parker, so I am super stoked. And I get to be a fan again, which is my preferred position.”

Along with Tom Holland, the film also stars Zendaya, Alfred Molina, Marisa Tomei and Jacob Batalon. It is slated to release on December 17, 2021.
