Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 7 Overview

The talented author Isuna Hasekura has written this remarkable series as a light novel, which is beautifully illustrated by Jū Ayakura. The story is directed by Takahashi Takeo and Sanpei Hijiri, and it follows the life of a travelling merchant who, one day, finds a young, naked woman sleeping in his carriage.
The anime series features the musical contributions of ClariS and Hope Hana for the theme songs, and Penkin Kevin for the overall score. The series has received official licensing from Crunchyroll, whereas TV Tokyo and AT-X are the original providers of the broadcast.
Episode 7 of Spice and Wolf Reboot 2024 can also be called the 7th episode of Ōkami to Kōshinryō (狼と香辛料).
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 7 Review and Recap – A Mysterious Woman

Thankfully, we are over the crisis that was going on for the past few episodes. Here, Holo is back on the road with Lawrence, and they are going on their next adventure as if they were not hunted by the Church a few days back. They talk normally and even have the usual chit-chat about food. It seems that peace has returned to their minds after that deadly encounter. The next place that they are heading to is a small religious town called Poroson. It is a beautifully secluded village that does not have much to offer. The people here are extremely religious, and they prefer frugality over anything.
However, even though they might seem to carry on God’s duty and pretend as if they are saints following an honourable path, the reality is far from that. The merchant with whom Lawrence wanted to deal tries to trick Lawrence in a very deceptive way. But Holo being quick-witted and wise, understands his ploy and masterfully exposes his intention. This gives Lawrence a great advantage, and he manages to threaten him to abide by all his conditions, making a huge profit.

This again proves just how competent Holo is when it comes to businesses. She has been alive for a very long time and hence, she knows how deceptive people can be. Plus, her senses are very keen, which gives her the added advantage of sniffing out any lies told to her. Thus, even when she makes Lawrence spend a lot of money on her, Lawrence is also making double the profit because of her quick wit.
But this will not be their only destination as they will also head to another city called Ruvinheigen. This is the complete opposite of Poroson, as, here priests and the church take huge advantage of their position and rake in money. Not only that, but they also monopolise the trade of gold so that they can have sole authority over it. It will be interesting to see how Holo and Lawrence will do business in such an environment.

Towards the end, we also meet another interesting character whose name is still not known. Apparently, she is a mage who can control wolves. Things get further complicated when Holo becomes very aggressive when she meets this mysterious lady, while Laurence seems enchanted by her.
Verdict
Today’s episode was again nice and entertaining. The adventurous feel is back after all the chaos that we witnessed previously. Now, we will see new characters and find out what they bring to the table.
