Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 3 Overview
The talented author Isuna Hasekura has written this remarkable series as a light novel, which is beautifully illustrated by Jū Ayakura. The story is directed by Takahashi Takeo and Sanpei Hijiri, and it follows the life of a travelling merchant who, one day, finds a young, naked woman sleeping in his carriage.
The anime series features the musical contributions of ClariS and Hope Hana for the theme songs, and Penkin Kevin for the overall score. The series has received official licensing from Crunchyroll, whereas TV Tokyo and AT-X are the original providers of the broadcast.
Episode 3 of Spice and Wolf Reboot 2024 can also be called the 2nd episode of Ōkami to Kōshinryō (狼と香辛料).

Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 3 Review and Recap – A New Town
It is another day of adventure for Holo and the merchant as now they are in a bustling and huge town called Pazzio. Even though the king does not live here, it is still one of the largest towns we have seen till now, and it houses merchants, as well as, nobles. The reason why Lawrence is in this town is because he is visiting the famous Milone trading company, where he will sell his pelts and try to make a profit.
This episode was very interesting, as we got a clear understanding of the business dealings that Lawrence does. Not just that, we also see how merchants sell things and know about the currency of this world. Lawrence is definitely a very good businessman with a keen sense of trading and a knack for dealing with people. But what he and we did not expect is how knowledgeable Holo is, when it comes to this line of work. She is a master negotiator who managed to earn her own keep, in a pretty shrewd and somewhat unethical way.
When Lawrence asked her how she knew so much about businesses, her answer was simple. As she has been alive for such a long time, it is only natural for her to pick up on things when merchants visit her town. Hence, even though she might not have been a businesswoman, she saw people tricking others and getting tricked, quite often.
Not only that, but the potential business idea with the Silver content of coins that Zheren suggested to Lawrence, is still something that grates in Lawrence’s mind. Lawrence does not know why that man lied to him, and he is indecisive about whether he should do business with a suspicious person like Zheren. With these thoughts in mind, Laurence meets Zheren in this town, and finally asks him what he desires in return. Zheren wants to get 10 Trenni silver coins for the information he provided and 10% of the profits that Lawrence will make with the help of his information.
Now, whether his idea is actually gonna work or not is something that you will have to see for yourself.
I never thought knowing about and understanding transactions and trade would be so engaging. This anime manages to make you interested in business dealings throughout the episode. The world-building is also becoming pretty fascinating, as now we are seeing more towns and meeting more interesting characters.

Verdict
Till now, I am enjoying this journey very much. It transports you to a new world and makes you a part of a journey that promises adventure and knowledge. Even though the anime is not high on action, comedy or drama, there is a serene vibe to it that keeps you invested with the characters.
