Somebody Trailer: Kim Young-kwang Plays a Psychopath in the Netflix Kdrama

Netflix and The Swoon are on a roll with their incessant releases and to make it all the more worthwhile, they’ve just released the trailer of the upcoming Kdrama Somebody. Starring Kim Young-kwang as a psychopath serial killer as the lead, the series has been directed by Jung Ji-woo and written by Han Ji-wan.

Other co-starring beside him are Kang Hae-lim, Kim Yong-ji and Kim Soo-yeon. With 8 episodes in the season, the show will begin its journey in November.

Somebody Trailer

Netflix introduces the Somebody storyline as:

A software developer and her friends get caught in a web of murder and crime involving the dating app she built and a mysterious man lurking close by.

Kim Young-kwang’s character declares war on all those “people who act like they are sophisticated, when, in fact, they are worthless”. His hobby of wanting “to go around killing everyone” doesn’t ease up on anyone except Kang Hae-lim’s Kim Sum.

Somebody is in fact the name of the dating app that puts the thrilling chase into motion. Kim Sum is the developer of the app, who, although is socially awkward, finds herself enamored by Sung Yun-oh (Kim Young-kwang). The latter is a charming architectural designer with a split self that he likes to keep hidden.

While the two finally come face to face after a murder, Gi-eun (Kim Soo-yeon) and Mok-won (Kim Yong-ji), Sum’s friends get entangled with the investigation of the murder mystery in the mean time.

Kim Sum is shown accepting and acknowledging Yun-oh as the ambiguous man he is because she traces some similarities shared with him. Proudly claiming that she “finally found someone that’s just like (her)” and that she really doesn’t want to lose him, Sum is led into a dark world, from which there’s no turning back.

Will her curiosity be the end of her, or will she be an accomplice of his appalling actions? To find out, watch the latest kdrama series releasing on Netflix soon.
