The story takes an intriguing turn with the arrival of a wild man who has been trapped in a dungeon for an entire decade. Finally free, he brings startling news about an impending threat to humanity. His backstory is as fascinating as the information he shares, revealing that he is the father of Jinwoo.

Later, Jinwoo makes a return to the demon castle dungeon, the place where he once defeated Cerberus but was unable to progress beyond the first floor. Now, having grown significantly stronger, Jinwoo decides to take on the challenge once more. He begins clearing the floors with his characteristic determination and new powers.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 4 Review and Recap

Today’s episode is a bit special as we witness many interesting turn of events. At first, Jinwoo finally realizes that he cannot go on anymore by concealing his actual orientation and passing his days as an E-rank hunter. Lower-ranking hunters cannot hunt in a high-ranking dungeon, and if Jinwoo wants to go further above the demon castle dungeon, then he must defeat stronger opponents and rank faster.

Thus, the much-awaited day comes for Jinwoo to reassess his ranking, and all hell breaks loose. The ranking procedure takes place by touching a globe-like machine and then that machine assessing one’s powers. In the case of Jinwoo, the entire machine starts to display error messages as his powers literally exceed the machine’s capacity. This automatically establishes that Jinwoo is the 10th S rank hunter of his country, and everyone present there starts talking about it.

At that time, S rank hunter Jongin was also present, and he tried to approach Jinwoo, but hilariously, Jinwoo rebuffed his advances, shocking the very prominent Jongin. This might be the very first time in his life somebody has rejected him. But that was not all. It is apparent that Jinwoo’s life will not remain the same after his status as an S-ranked hunter becomes public. Hence, how his life will go will mostly depend on the decisions Jinwoo makes for himself now when everyone will rush to him with offers.

However, there are also some prominent events, like the aftermath of Dongsoo getting mercilessly beaten down by Jinwoo’s father. Plus, Jinwoo meets Haein, the 9th S-ranked hunter in the country. How these events go is something that you must witness yourself.

I absolutely loved today’s episode, even though it did not have any fighting. This is a much-needed breather episode that helps progress the plot and develop the characters. After it becomes public that Jinwoo has an S rank, there will be more trouble for him. Dongsoo will be convinced he is the one who killed his brother, and the result of this clash will be entertaining.
