Sky High The Series Season 2: Has Netflix Renewed the Spanish Crime Thriller Series?

Sky High The Series Season 2 possibilities are quite high, looking at the first season’s ending which followed Sole and her determination to gain control of the business after Ángel. Hasta el Cielo: La Serie is created and directed by Daniel Calparsoro and the screenplay is written by Jorge Guerricaechevarría. It is produced by Vaca Films with executive producers Jorge, Borja Pena and Emma Lustres. There are seven episodes in total with a runtime of about 45 minutes.

The ensemble cast of the series includes Asia Ortega Leiva as Sole, Luis Tosar as Rogelio, Álvaro Rico as Fernan, Richard Holmes as Poli, Patricia Vico as Mercedes, Fernando Cayo as Duque, Alana La Hija del Jeque as Rosa, Áyax Pedrosa as Motos, Dollar Selmouni as Gitano, Jarfaiter as Toño and Carmen Sánchez as Marta.

Will There Be Sky High The Series Season 2?

In the last episode of the series, we see that the truth about Estrella’s death comes finally to light when Rosa gains access to her cousin’s laptop and finds a video of her apparent murder. The man who actually killed Estrella is none other than Ferran, who works along with Rogelio, while maintaining his position in the police department.

Although, Rosa doesn’t know him & sends the video to Sole, who is planning her ultimate revenge in Nigeria. She got to know about Mercedes’s plan to get her arrested once she signs the port deal in Lagos, in exchange for her own freedom & to stop the collected files from her safe to be revealed publically. Rogelio helps Sole to get rid of Mercedes instead by pretending to go there for the deal. He also gives a warning about Fernan when he discovers a password-protected app on his phone.

After not hearing back from Sole, Rosa goes to the police to report but shockingly finds the man from the video, working there. Although she escapes from there, when Ferran gets to know about her report, he quickly runs after her. In Lagos, Sole bids goodbye to Mercedes by confessing about knowing Marta being Rogelio’s daughter & how she came looking for her at the store. Once the conversation is over, Sole’s men try to capture the lawyer.

What Sole didn’t expect was the real identity of Fernan, which leaves her heartbroken but when he spills about her getting arrested, due to his own attachment to her. She walks away from there leaving his fate in the hands of the Colombians. Sole has already strategised to fly out the next morning but on Carmen’s arrangement, she gets ready to fly out immediately.

Strangely Mercedes finds her way to Sole & begs to save her. Similarly, Fernan tries his best to fight the people who want to kill him and when Sole witnesses him almost losing his life, she shoots the man & runs away with both of them – to the airport. While Duque is chasing after them, they fly out right on time before he could catch them.

While in Spain, Ferran hits Rosa’s cycle with his car but she runs away to the junk car’s area where she has hidden a gun. He follows her there and tries to choke her to death, meanwhile, Rogelio is seen coming to help but before that Rosa gets hold of the gun and shoots. By the time Rogelio reaches, he is already dead & Marta comes looking for her girlfriend & takes her away.

While Netflix or the creators haven’t announced anything official about the second season yet, the chances seem to be quite high since a lot of the story remains to be concluded. We are yet to see if Rogelio accepts Marta or not & what lies in Fernan’s fate now that he abandoned his secret mission, to be with Sole.

Also, now that she knows that her father was the one who sent Ferran to Estrella, will she be able to face him and forgive him. Since his one action costed the life of two people she loved. The story has much more to be explored & even the creators have expressed their wish to take it further & the first season could be the base to set up their next lead characters & their stories.
