When is Skull Island Releasing? All About Netflix’s King Kong Animated Series

Skull Island is an upcoming animated series that will be premiering on Netflix. The Netflix Original series is co-produced by Legendary Television and Tractor Pants and is animated by Powerhouse Animation. Based on the Warner Bros.’ Monsterverse series, the show is written, created, directed and executive produced by Brian Duffield alongside Jacob Robinson, Brad Graeber, Jen Chambers and Thomas Tull.

Jason Lazarus and Joseph Trapanese give the music for the series. With a total of 8 episodes, the runtime will be approximately 30-34 minutes each.

Skull Island Cast

An ensemble of talented actors will be voicing the various characters of the series. The main and recurring cast includes Nicolas Cantu as Charlie, Mae Whitman as Annie, Darren Barnett as Mike, Benjamin Bratt as Cap, Betty Gilpin as Irene, Phil LaMarr as Sam and Fryda Wolff as an island girl. Various other characters will also be appearing in the series, like King Kong, other titans and subspecies.

Skull Island Plot

In an effort to save Annie from the ocean, some well-intentioned explorers set out to sea. They end up stranded on dangerous Skull Island as a result of their actions. Together, they struggle to endure the perils of the enigmatic island, which is home to enormous beasts and scary monsters, such as Kong. However, apart from the monsters, there are other people on the island as well that can prove to be dangerous.

In the trailer, the group of friends gets stranded on the infamous island and immediately gets attacked by the unusual creatures that belong on the island. It is a result of their carelessness that leads them to the dangerous area. However, they refuse to give up and work together relentlessly to be safe and alive. Additionally, they also come across indigenous people settled on the island who help them to defy the dangerous situations.

The upcoming series is the first 2D-animated television series in the Monsterverse as well as the first installment since Kong: The Animated Series concluded in 2001. It is also the first traditional King Kong animated series. So far the show looks exciting and will be interesting to witness how the story unfolds.
