Shark Tank India Season 2 episode 16 premiered on Sony LIV and Sony Entertainment Television on January 23, 2023, at 10PM IST. Payel Seth is the show’s creative director, while it’s been produced by Studio NEXT, with Ravikesh Vatsa as its writer. The show is now hosted by renowned comedian Rahul Dua, and is joined by six sharks, namely, Anupam Mittal Founder-CEO of Shaadi.com – People Group; Aman Gupta, Co-Founder-CMO of boAt; Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Vineeta Singh, Co-Founder-CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics; Peyush Bansal, Founder-CEO of Lenskart.com and Amit Jain, Co-Founder-CEO of CarDekho Group and InsuranceDekho.com.
‘VS Mani and Co’, an authentic instant filter coffee brand that also branches out to South Indian snacks and spices, ‘Sepal’, a brand that manufactures durable, weather-proof and easy-to-install motorcycle canopies, and ‘Solinas’, a venture that’s developing AI-based septic tank cleaning robots to eradicate manual scavenging, join the latest episode. The first pitch is funded by Namita and Anupam’s joint team, whereas, ‘Sepal’ receives severe opposition from the sharks, but Peyush rises to the occasion, bets on the founders and comes on-board with them. Lastly, the grandest pitch among all and its benevolent cause is supported by Anupam and Peyush’s collective effort.
Once again, the new episode delves into another petty clash between the sharks, but this time, surprisingly, Amit Jain is also painted in a bad light as he pushes Anupam Mittal’s buttons. Each shark’s outright rude remarks for the second pitch by the ‘Sepal’ team was severely condemned by the viewers. Anupam had initially gained his spot as one of the likeable sharks, however, the recent employment of forced tactics to make the show more ‘masaledar’ are leading people to lose respect for him as well as Namita Thapar.
Peyush Bansal, on the other hand, is consistently on the rise as the public’s favourite as he continues to accord pitchers with respect, regardless of what his fellow sharks have to say. The brand images of both ‘Solinas’ and ‘Sepal’ gained especial escalation after the episode as viewers poured in their support for their developments.
