The second trailer of Shaakuntalam, portraying an epic love story from Mahabharata‘s Adi Parva section, is now out! The forthcoming Telugu-language mythological saga is written and directed by Gunasekhar and produced by Neelima Guna, with cinematography by Shekar V Joseph and music by Mani Sharma. The grand-scale theatrical release will be made available to the audience in several Indian languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam & Kannada.
In addition to the titular stars, the film stars Allu Arha, Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta and others. As can be gathered from the trailer, the grand project is high on VFX and hopes to build the same dreamy microcosmic representation of the world as one can imagine being the foundation of the epic story.
Shaakuntalam starring Samantha and Dev Mohan promises to be a visual treat in its second trailer. Samatha and Dev Mohan along with Producers Dil Raju and Nileema Guna launch the 3D trailer experience in Mumbai.
The story of Shaakuntalam revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata, portrayed by Samantha and Dev Mohan. The massively mounted film Shaakuntalam based on internationally acclaimed Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam is all set to release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam & Kannada.
Samantha was previously seen in some films like the Telugu action thriller Yashoda(2022), the Tamil black comedy Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022) and the Telugu action drama film Pushpa: The Rise (2021). Whereas, Dev Mohan was seen in the Malayalam action drama flick Panthrandu (2022) and the Malayalam romantic film Sufiyum Sujatayum (2020)
