BTS’ Jimin has achieved the unbelievable feat again by acquiring the Set Me Free Pt 2 first win at Mnet’s M Countdown today. The titular track premiered with its music video on March 17, 2023, ahead of FACE, his debut solo album’s release date. This grand victory has brought the first trophy for his new comeback’s promotions, and it has all been possible due to the overwhelming rise in digital streaming, and pre and live voting points.

Up against TWICE’s Set Me Free, the title track of their twelfth EP titled Ready To Be, Jimin’s pre-release track garnered 5,000 points for digitals, while the JYP Entertainment girl group scored 3,323 points in the same category. On the other hand, his song again beat the latter tune in the pre-voting round after scoring 1,500 hits as opposed to their 978 points. Live-voting again gave him an upper hand with 1000 points, while TWICE scored 351.
Despite being absent from the broadcast and having not received any points in physical sales since the album is not out yet, the BTS main dancer has already scored a massive home run, shocking both fans and non-fans alike. He will start appearing on music program broadcasts next week once he commences the promotions for his album’s leading track, Like Crazy.
While this is his first win for his new song, it marks his overall second music show triumph as a soloist following the former win for VIBE, a track that he released in collaboration with BIGBANG’s Taeyang in January 2023. By sharing the good news on Twitter, the BTS ARMY has rejoiced at the septet’s lead vocalist’s win. Hashtags like “Jimin2ndWin” and “SetMeFreePt2FirstWin” are trending high on the platform as the fanbase continues to be pleasantly surprised by the feat achieved.
