In the last episode, Sean made it clear that he is on Dorothy’s team now, and the dynamic has already changed between the two of them. There is a sense of comfort and love between them that wasn’t even there in the first season. The next morning, Dorothy decides to make a plan to get rid of Leanne completely. The moment this thought materialised, she received a letter slid under the front door.
Sean and Dorothy read this letter and come to the conclusion that there is someone on their street willing to help. They will get rid of Leanne if the Turners help out. In an attempt to drive out people from The Church of Lesser Saints, the couple holds a party, making it easier to lose Leanne in a crowd. However, Leanne has started understanding that the people in the house are keeping secrets from her. She is an outsider in her own home.

Julian is also called to come home and essentially forced to stay away from the house during the party because Leanne and him have a consensual romantic relationship. Dorothy uses the excuse of it being unhealthy to keep him away, but actually, it’s because they’re not on the same team and that infuriates her. Julian speaks to Sean after this asking him to convince Dorothy to leave Leanne alone. Sean is not having any of this. He makes it clear that their nanny has to go.
Sean goes around inviting people to the party when he finds one of the neighbours carrying a large basket of instant soup and some other stockpiled items. Even though they have some other food items that do not look normal to be stockpiled, he brushes this experience off and decides to go around inviting other neighbours on Spruce Street.
People start piling into the house, and Sean has created a wonderful meal for all of them. Leanne is sour about this whole thing, afraid for Jericho and mostly herself. The couple decides to ask probing questions so they can figure out who the letter senders are. After a barrage of unhelpful conversations, they admit that this plan is not working. Dorothy prolongs the party by suggesting a game while Sean cuts off the power.

As the party members file into the kitchen, two people capture Leanne. Her screams and struggles become easy to hear. Sean and Dorothy are hoping this doesn’t last long. But the moment the struggle becomes too chaotic, the ground starts shaking, cracks start appearing in the ceiling, and Jericho is left alone.
When the world finally stills, the neighbours make their way out only to find a huge chasm in the middle of the street. The hole is big enough to cover the entire street ranging from one house to another. Uncle George may not have made an appearance, but it is assured that he won’t be able to stay away.
Servant Season 4 Episode 5 Review
Finally, this writer is happy that the show won’t be ending on a low note. The early rumblings of the season have culminated in a mid-season blast like this earthquake. This opens up many opportunities for the future. Once again, the top shots are back, and this time, the director has made it clear to portray its purpose clearly. As usual, character dynamics remain tense and taut like they always do, but the shift between Sean and Dorothy is so stark that it gives audiences an idea as to why they were married in the first place.

Speaking of character development, Sean went from being a cynical, hard-headed individual with only his wits to survive, but after four seasons of trauma, he has become optimistic, understanding and marginally gentle. This is evident in the lack of food-making this season. His job has stopped that from happening at the moment, yet, unlike the last few seasons, there are no explicit scenes of cutting meat or making snobby concerning food in this one.
This season is gearing up now, and maybe Leanne finally snaps and tells Dorothy what actually happened with Jericho, and the whole plot comes crashing down.
