Run Jin episode 18 is here and Kim Seokjin dressed in a Hanbok is certainly the best way to start off this year. As he heads to prepare a special lunchbox for some special people, he arrives at Hong Ji-kyung’s house as she is here to help him prepare this special lunch. As the episode turns into a series of comic moments, delicious food, and light banter between the two, fans are left laughing it out yet again.
Run Jin started on August 13th, 2024, after BTS Jin was discharged from the military and took over the group’s popular show Run BTS. With the other members still in the military, Jin took over and showed him engaging in various activities, adventures, and more, often with guests like TXT’s Yeonjun, Lee Yi-kyung, Jonathan Yiombi, and more! With a new episode released every Tuesday, he has been entertaining fans around the world as we await the return of all our beloved BTS members this year!
Coming back to the show, this is yet another New Year special episode and this time, Jin’s mission is at his guest’s house. The guest is none other than Hong Ji-kyung who is ready to host the idol as he is told to prepare a special lunchbox to give to those he has been grateful. He arrives with liquor made by him as a gift for her which leaves her surprised. Later, Jin is once again surprised by the producers as he finds out what the activity is while Ji-kyung is shocked that he has no idea what is happening.
Therefore, in a surprise turn of events, Ji-kyung takes up the role of the host for most of the episode and begins assisting the idol in preparing the lunch. But not before they exchange New Year’s greetings by bowing to each other and then to the ARMYs watching the episode. While the awkward air around them is prominent, it doesn’t stop the stream of banters, jokes, and more that are soon to come along.
The two soon get comfortable and begin cooking while Jin tries to ease things for them both as much as possible, Ji-kyung also goes along with him and jokes around. Soon, the food is ready and packed after which Jin calls Lee Yi-kyung and Baek Jong-won whom he decides to give the lunchboxes.
While the call with Yi-kyung leaves both him and Ji-kyung sighing and laughing at the same time, the call with Baek Jong-won ends soon after he is told about the lunchbox. After this, the producers of the show tell the two that they have prepared some games for the two with prize money on the line that they need to win. The two soon get playing and once again Jin’s trickery begins, leaving Ji-kyung speechless.
However, she soon gets a hook of it and begins her trickery as well and the two finally end the games winning the prize prepared for them. With this, the episode comes to an end and footage of Yi-kyung and Baek Jong-won receiving the lunch is shown. Following this, another footage of Jin handing over his prize money to Ji-kyung for her daughter is shown, and with that, the episode comes to an end.
This episode has definitely been one of the easygoing ones in this series while also being filled with many awkward Jin moments. However, seeing the two slowly bond and try to make each other comfortable while apologising for most of the episode is truly intriguing to watch. But the highlight has to be their call with Yi-kyung whose brief presence left us laughing.
Altogether, this was yet another wonderful episode of the show and we cannot wait for more from Run Jin because this show is what makes our Tuesdays special.
