– Roomies in Dreamland Review Does Not Contain Spoilers –
Roomies in Dreamland’s comedy is extremely on the nose with its humour and just doesn’t leave anything to the imagination when it comes to its comedic quips. It’s very extra and over-the-top, and although it’s not annoying, it is rather unfunny at most times. The series lands some of its jokes, especially when it doesn’t shove the laughs down our throats.
The most annoying part of the show, however, is the fact that there’s a full-size item song for some reason that is neither good to listen to nor fun to watch. It’s unnecessary, uncomfortable, toxic and just pads the runtime, making you want to skip through anyway.
Maybe it’s the stoner comedy genre that I don’t get or find entertaining, but man, you need to do stoner comedies really well for them to land. Alright!’s previous two iterations of the show, starring the same cast, Roomies in Scamland and Roomies in Mafialand, weren’t the brightest bulbs out there, but maybe they were a bit funnier.

There’s also this odd romantic angle in the series that feels rather confusing and uncomfortable to watch. Plus, let’s not forget the casual littering on the beach and the very problematic depiction of some of the characters. They have no depth and are very cliched and predictable, making watching this one a very difficult chore.
The series puts forth such unbelievable situations in front of you, they leave you feeling rather annoyed at the absurdity. Following three good-for-nothing men with no direction and with no way of realising their crazy dreams just feels like too much. There are, though, some moments wherein you do laugh at the stupidity, but that’s as much as you’re going to get from it.
Ok, sure, this is a parody. But man, it’s just unbelievably trying.
Sharma, Vijay and Chavan have become quite familiar with their roles and play them diligently and seriously. Although their characters are the same ones as before, I guess props to them for being so in tune with these stoners with nothing to do in life.
Summing Up: Roomies in Dreamland

This is that show which you probably watch, high as a kite. It’s cliché and is entirely made up of forced situations that don’t make you laugh anymore because you have probably watched the same thing in a hundred other pieces of media. Although the series is short, it will really test your patience.
Roomies in Dreamland is streaming on Amazon Mini TV.
