On Sunday, Ram Setu actor Akshay Kumar was tested positive, and on Monday, he was taken to hospital. Now the other co-actors have put themselves in self-isolation.
Akshay Kumar started shooting for his upcoming film Ram Setu with his co-stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha. He was supposed to shoot a particular sequence with 100 junior artists in Madh Island, Mumbai.

But, on Sunday morning, he took to his Twitter account and shared his health update with his fans. His post reads, “I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I’m under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care.”
He further added, “I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon.”
The next day, the Ram Setu actor, sharing his health update again, took to his Twitter handle and revealed that he is taken to the Hiranandani Hospital, Powai. He thanked all his fans for their warm wishes and wrote, “Thank you everyone for all your warm wishes and prayers, they seem to be working, I am doing fine, but as a precautionary measure under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home soon. Take care.”

After Akshay was diagnosed with COVID-19, the Ram Setu producer suggested that other junior members take the test, and 45 of them got positive with the virus.

The other co-actors got the news and immediately put themselves in self-isolation. The Chhalaang actress shared a picture on her Instagram story while taking steam, showing how she is taking care of herself, measuring all the preventive methods. In the picture she has checked out the list by ticking on ‘Isolation’, ‘Steam Inhalation’, ‘Precautions’ and then has urged her fans to stay safe with a folding hand emoji.

On the other hand, Kick actress Jacqueline shared pictures with her pet cat Zhivago in the morning. Jacqueline thinks her feline needs a wash and a scrub. They are spending their time alone at their house.

Nushrratt Bharuccha has also shared a screenshot of the conference call with Akshay Kumar and Jacqueline Fernandez as the co-actors are in this fight together, checking up on one another. The actress captioned the picture, “Checking up on each other! Far apart but together in spirit.”
As per reported by Indian Express, B. N. Tiwari, president of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees told, “It’s quite unfortunate that so many people tested positive at one go. While most were junior artists, a few from Akshay Kumar’s team also tested positive for COVID-19. They have all been quarantined and provided medical attention. With Akshay also in quarantine, the shoot has been suspended as of now.”
Apart from Akshay Kumar, many Bollywood stars have been tested positive including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and others. Even though some are recovering, some are still under procedure.
