We are back at the end of the last episode where Eun-sung continues to feed meaningless lies to Hae-in regarding Hyun-woo and her family. He changes doctors and nurses to ensure that his plan is not exposed to Hae-in. They fly back to South Korea and her family rejoices upon seeing her. Her lukewarm reaction dims the joy but they try to make her understand however, she does not listen to them and walks away with Eun-sung.

Hyun-woo, on the other hand, is hard at work with his friends as they go around, finding evidence regarding the murder. He looks through all the possibilities to find any loophole that can save him. The next day, Hae-in goes to meet Hyun-woo at the prison and immediately, there is a shift in energy as she lays her eyes on Hyun-woo. Her heart races as she stares at the face of the man she loves. He immediately asks about her health and she accuses him of cheating on her and committing murder. He tries to caution her about Eun-sung but she pays no heed to it.

Hyun-woo’s first hearing goes well as his and Hae-in’s family gather to support him. His friends come prepared and they display a plethora of evidence that proves Hyun-woo’s innocence. After winning the case, Eun-sung begins to think of new ways to keep Hae-in away from Hyun-woo.

Hae-in drags Secretary Na along with her to follow Hyun-woo as he leaves the prison. She keeps track of his traits as well as his behaviour towards his family. She becomes perplexed at seeing Soo-cheol with them – questioning the odd family dynamics. Soo-cheol, on the other hand, becomes a hero as he saves Da-hye from her ex and the other goons. Hyun-woo’s brother also comes to his rescue as he falls from exhaustion and pain.

Hyun-woo and Hae-in enter a weird phase in their relationship as Hae-in wishes to not see him around, causing continuous heartbreaks for Hyun-woo. They end up meeting at the aquarium. Turns out, Hae-in organised the date before the surgery as an informal wedding ceremony for them. Hae-in cannot believe her eyes but Hyun-woo convinces her to doubt everything around her – especially Eun-sung.

She goes back to meet Eun-sung and sees an incriminating piece of evidence – the video of her grandfather’s last moments before he went into a coma. She tries to make sense of it when Eun-sung walks in. He proposes marriage but she refrains from answering the question and walks away. At home, she finds the parcel from Germany – the diary she wrote for herself and Hyun-woo!

She tells herself to never forget Baek Hyun-woo because he is the reason why she did not want the surgery in the first place but also the one who convinced her to get better.

She rushes to meet him and sees him across the road. Eun-sung receives the notification that she has left the house. Hyun-woo sees her across the road as she cries profusely. Before they can meet, a bus comes in front of them and she vanishes. He moves forward to find her but gets hit by a car. The epilogue shows that Eun-sung sees Hyun-woo and Hae-in from afar – indicating that he caused the accident.
