Queen of Tears Episode 13 Reactions: Queen of Tears (눈물의 여왕) is a romantic comedy that began airing on 9th March 2024 on tvN as well as on Netflix in selected regions. The 16-episode series stars the popular and talented actors, Kim Soo-hyun as Baek Hyun-woo and Kim Ji-won as Hong Hae-in, along with Na Young-hee, Jung Jin-young, Kwak Dong-yeon, Park Sung-hoon, Kim Jung-nan and others.
The romantic drama is written by Park Ji-eun, the mastermind behind popular dramas like Crash Landing On You, My Love From the Stars and The Producers and directed by Jang Young-woo and Kim Hee-won.
Queen of Tears Plot
Hong Hae-in is a chaebol heiress, known as the ‘queen’ of Queens Group Department Stores while Baek Hyun-woo, her husband, is the legal director of the conglomerate and known as the ‘supermarket prince’. Hong Hae-in is described as a cold and calculated woman while Baek Hyun-woo is warm-hearted and emotional.
A marriage between an influential woman and an entry-level employee is dubbed the ‘wedding of the century’ and is nothing but a facade. Belonging to two different worlds, the couple could not overcome their differences but a big crisis brings these two together. Soon, they realise that maybe being different from one another is not so bad after all.
Queen of Tears Episode 13 Recap
The episode continues from where we left off – the Hong family and Hyun-woo find the Chairman’s secret room. Unfortunately, the room is empty as Eun-sung and Sol-hee move the money to a safe place. The family feel sad about it but they go to Sol-hee. She insists on living in the same place as them and shocked as they are, they agree.
Hae-in slips away to check the pen she left in her grandfather’s room. He leaves an emotional message for her, saying that he wishes to have been able to talk to her. He also tells her he has been a money-grubber and only cares about making money. He thanks her for being his grandfather and apologises to the entire family.
Hae-in and Hyun-woo share a tear-jerking conversation as she tells him that after her funeral, all of them will leave her and she will end up alone. He reacts to her words but she continues saying that the world looks annoyingly beautiful today, making her want to live. Hyun-woo feels sad for her and cries silently as she gives him a sad smile.
Back at Yeongdu-ri, Hyun-woo and Hae-in’s fathers get together to drink when Hyun-woo receives a call from a specialist in Germany. They inform him about a life-saving surgery that can save her but the only side effect would be that she may lose all her memories. He relays the same to the fathers and her father requests him to keep it as a secret otherwise she would refuse to go through with it.
With that plan in mind, they tell the whole family and everyone celebrates it while Hae-in looks confused. Later, she approaches Hyun-woo and asks him a plethora of questions regarding the surgery. He answers them for her and she walks away happily but two minutes later, she breaks down and Hyun-woo runs to comfort her.
They cuddle to sleep and in the morning, Hae-in makes plans with him to spend the whole day together. They show their cute antics as a couple – Hyun-woo takes several pictures of her, Hae-in smiles goofily throughout their outing and they constantly remain together.
They sit at a quaint place and Hae-in declares that since she will be living, she wants to make a couple of changes – one of them being that she will reveal three secrets. She reveals the first one – the story of the pink MP3 player. He walks around in shock and she tells him that it is okay that he does not remember her. He shocks her instead by telling her what she wore that day and how he looked for her.
Moved by the explanation, she gives yet another shock by showing the ring. Hyun-woo is rendered speechless. He hugs her and cries silently while Hae-in smiles giddily. Later, Hae-in decides to stay with Hyun-woo and the parents look happy for her. As the couple go back to his apartment, they decide to live as newlyweds and share multiple cute moments like cuddling, cooking and cleaning as well as spending all their time together.
They go to Germany and the viewers find out that Eun-sung followed them there as well. The couple share a laugh when Hae-in reveals the third secret – Yeong-suk, the raccoon on the top floor, is a lie she made up. When they reach the hospital, he finally reveals the side effect of the surgery – shocking her. The episode ends with Hae-in running away and Hyun-woo stops her to tell her to not make a choice but to live.
