Pro Bono Episode 12 Recap

The episode begins with David talking about his plans to his pro bono team. He explains how it is very difficult to drag Oh and Partners’ law firm legally because of all the high-ranking officials associated with the company. The only way to corner Mr Oh is by creating a show out of the trial publicly so that there is no way for Oh to escape. Thus, on the very first day of the trial, when no one expected anyone to be bold, David summoned Oh right away. He also provides substantial evidence for the judge to summon Oh, and this completely changes the whole scenario.
Needless to say, this creates quite a stir within the circle of judges, and things become absolutely crazy after this. Finally, the picture becomes clear that Jung-in knew about David’s situation from the very beginning, and she made him come to her firm precisely because she wanted to oust her father from his position. She essentially used him to get to her goal. Back at the trial, something unprecedented happened because the case was assigned to a new Chief Justice who is close to the perpetrators.

At the court, to get some leverage on the case, David suggests that they have a confrontation cross-examination between all the accomplices. This is a very risky move, and even the pro bono team becomes worried if this was a good idea. But David comes forward with an elaborate scheme to rattle everyone, and he plans this with Jung-in. Things already start to become fragile between all the perpetrators, and the stage gets set with the seeds of doubt planted by David.
After this, we get an interactive scene of David confronting Oh, and this was very interesting to witness. Here, we get to see why Oh supported Shin and what his role had been all this time. He claims that he is just someone who remains in the shadows and gets his hands dirty to do his part. However, things take a wild twist when Oh directly offers Shin’s prestigious seat to David in place of David dropping him from the case.

At the trial, Shin is relentlessly questioned by David. But we see another massive twist when Oh comes to the court for questioning, which was absolutely unexpected. The way the case proceeds from here on is absolutely brilliant, and by the end of it, David completely turns the whole thing around, showcasing just how brilliant he is. The trial ends in a massive win for David and, to some extent, also for Jung-in, who finally gets her position back.
Pro Bono Episode 12 Review

I absolutely loved this episode for how effectively it built tension from start to finish, leading to an ending that felt both surprising and deeply satisfying. Even if the conclusion itself was somewhat predictable, the careful setup and execution made it one of the strongest season finales in recent memory.
