Pro Bono Episode 10 Recap

This episode begins, and the entire pro bono team is against David, who seems relaxed at his own trial. There is no other lawyer present to accompany him as he plans to fight from his side alone. The pro bono team utilises all of David’s skills and tactics that he taught them to use against him. First of all, they call for someone who is related to the judge so that things become awkward for the presiding judge and manipulate him into favouring them over David. But this does not mean that David cannot play this game himself, as he decides to act like a patient in the next trial, so that the date gets pushed.

In this episode, one thing also becomes clear: Jun-woo is actually working against David for his own personal gains. He constantly talks about his footing in the firm and tries to lead the case with active persuasion. He claims that he has done some research, and then in the next trial, he says that David had a personal vendetta against Jun-woo’s father.

Jun-woo asserts that David had prepared for this revenge for a long time and provides substantial evidence to support that. Nan-hee very rightfully calls him out about how he managed to get such important documents, but he dodges her questions skilfully. However, it is later confirmed that he has been receiving help from Oh directly. Nan-hee finds that out by going undercover, and she is livid.

The trial continues, and the verdict seems to go completely against David in one way or another. But he asks for another day at the trial at the very last moment, and the pro bono team discusses whether David was truly good or bad in his intentions. Surprisingly, Nan-hee is the only one who actually sides with David, while others admonish him. Here, she confronts Jun-woo in front of everyone and exposes him. He, however, does not think of his wrongdoings and continues to butter up the new CEO to create a favourable space for himself within the company.

But something exciting happens as we see Jung-in quit her company because she knew how her father was the one pulling the strings and siding with David. She becomes his lawyer and completely turns the tables, coming up with some important points. She also exposes the ideological issue of the pro bono team, mainly Gi-ppeum and Yeong-sil.

Things become more problematic when Gi-ppeum realises that David is the one who had been her role model, and she becomes emotionally distraught. She refuses to fight the case with logic and tries to think about everything with emotion. She practically goes for the low blow, mentioning David’s mother’s situation to highlight how he must have judged so harshly because of his personal revenge plans.

Pro Bono Episode 10 Review

I loved today’s episode because of how intense it was. The way the characters are interacting is serious, and we can see that the stakes are extremely high. David has many enemies, and the pro bono team members might be his biggest adversaries yet. Things ended on a massive cliffhanger here, and hopefully, we will get to see what David’s fate will be in the next episode.
