Permanent Roommates Season 3 Ending Explained: After grappling with some disturbing heartbreaks last season, Mikesh and Tanya are back to live, laugh and love in the third season as they figure out another issue in their lives as they complete quite a few years of living together. This season of TVF’s hit series sees Sumeet Vyas and Nidhi Singh back on screen as Mikesh and Tanya. The series is produced by Arunabh Kumar and developed and directed by Shreyansh Pandey. The third season has 5 episodes, each with a runtime of around 40 minutes.

Having lived together for a couple of years, Mikesh and Tanya find themselves at a crossroads when she wants to go abroad to further her career, and he refuses to leave for undisclosed reasons. With tensions growing between the couple, will they be able to figure themselves out and have the difficult conversation necessary to clear the misunderstands?

When season 3 starts, we see Mikesh trying to surprise Tanya on their anniversary. He, as usual, is excited about this milestone and tries to go above and beyond for her but as it turns out, after sharing their lives for so long, Tanya knows all of Mikesh’s surprises, and the monotony is slowly getting to her. After seeing her colleague get a huge opportunity to shift to Germany, Tanya feels that it’s the right time to move and start afresh. However, Mikesh is on the fence about making this decision; in fact, he seems like he is uninterested in making the jump completely.
However, after a fun conversation with Brijmohan, he decides to agree with her move request in an effort to confuse her, but it ends up making her more excited than before. Foiling his initial plans. From then onwards, he decides to make Tanya face all the changes that she will have to adjust to outside in hopes of deterring her, but in that scenario, too, things don’t pan out for her. In the midst of this, Lata arrives at their house to stay with them after Mikesh’s father’s unfortunate demise.
In the midst of trying to indirectly stop her from leaving, unfortunately, Mikesh forgot to ask Purushottam to file the permanent residency application, resulting in it being filed twice and the application getting rejected. Tanya’s annoyance gets the better of her, and she asks Mikesh to spill his true feelings about moving to Canada, to which he eventually agrees. Unfortunately, no one knows why Mikesh doesn’t want to go, and Tanya, too, starts to keep her distance from him.

In the end, after Lata’s gentle prodding, he finally confesses his bottled-up emotions regarding his father’s death and the helplessness he felt while coming back to India from the USA. He confesses that he never wants to feel that way again if anything ever happens to his mother. Having heard Mikesh’s feelings, Tanya, too, decides not to go anywhere, at least for the time being, and stay in India with her partner and enjoy the life that they have built together.
In a twist, though, Mikesh, realising Tanya’s ambitions and dreams, pushes her to go to Germany and take up a lucrative job opportunity, and in spite of Tanya’s pushback, he doesn’t let her give up on her dreams. In Permanent Roommates episode 5, we see Tanya confessing that she doesn’t want to leave the life that they have created in India and go to some foreign land without him, but Mikesh convinces her to do so, and they promise to love each other as she goes off to the airport, leaving Mikesh on the road.
