People Pt 2 MV (사람 Pt 2) has been finally released on 7th April by Agust D aka SUGA and featuring IU. The song is described as something that the singer wants to tell himself and also others, which was actually written during the time when the world was trapped in closed doors due to the pandemic. Through the song, he wishes to comfort himself and the listeners from the hopelessness of life.
It is the pre-release track from his solo album D-Day, which is said to be the concluding chapter of a trilogy by SUGA’s other moniker, Agust D, which is the reverse of his stage name and the initials of his hometown – Daegu Town. The latest album will be succeeding the previous mixtapes, Agust D and D-2 from which various bangers like Give it to me, So Far Away, Daechwita and many others came out.

The album delves into the personal journey of SUGA as Agust D, offering an intimate portrayal of his life as an artist. This pre-release track is also a follow-up song to his previous track People, from his 2020 mixtape D-2. The previous track talked about how people and himself also change through time. He focused on the point that everything is just a happening that passes by and we shouldn’t take things so seriously while going with the flow is the answer maybe.
People Pt 2 track starts off with the rapper sitting in a dark room and writing something in his notebook, presumably the lyrics of the song. While IU initiates the song and sings about how time is ready to go, it’s right in front of us yet we are not moving and are stuck in one place, referring to how things were during the last few years.

Followed by BTS’ Suga’s rapping verse where he questions the term love, as during that time he wondered what he even loves anymore. He wants to have a sincere relationship with the people around him but forever seems like a sand castle that can come crumbling down at the calmest of waves. He ponders about love & loss which leads to hopelessness and the more you think about it, the more you go far away in the dark hole.

While in the music video, the rapper is seen wandering around his house, sometimes he is sitting on the kitchen counter or washing his face, making coffee for himself and just like that the sun also sets & his day just goes away. The second rap verse talks about sadness and how the future that we all had hoped for is gone. He further comments that it’s all because of our own actions & there’s nobody else to blame.
Whereas visually he is seen finding his spark back by making music and even the light changes from a bit dark to the golden hour glow, signifying that there’s always some light at the end of the tunnel. Now from wandering in his house, Suga is back in his studio and making new music & even listening to other music to find his inspiration.
The last verses resonate with the message that the track People intended to give, that things change and everything passes by eventually. The lyrics say that it’s eventually a struggle against the loneliness that engulfs us but you don’t have to endure it all – if you feel like crying then cry and express all your emotions instead of trying to overcome everything. While the rapper is seen finding some peace outside, walking on his terrace or sitting by the pool or the garden.
