Our Blues Episode 19 Recap: Dong-seok And Ok-dong’s Trip To Mokpo

Our Blues (우리들의 블루스) is a Korean drama series directed by Kim Kyu-tae and features Lee Byung-hun, Shin Min-a, Cha Seung-won, Lee Jung-eun, Han Ji-min, Kim Woo-bin, and Uhm Jung-hwa, alongside other cast members. The series has 20 episodes, and Our Blues Episode 19 is titled Ok-dong And Dong-seok 2 and has a runtime of 60 minutes.

In Our Blues Episode 19, Jeong-jun takes Yeong-ok to meet with his parents but Yeong-ok is not ready yet. However, she was the one who proposed it when she was drunk but now they have informed his parents and cannot back off. Yeong-ok tells Jeong-jun that she will leave if his parents offend her three times. Jeong-jun’s parents ignore Yeong-ok completely when they arrive, offending Yeong-ok. When Yeong-ok offers to help Jeong-jun’s mother, she again ignores Yeong-ok. However, while having lunch, Jeong-jun’s parents warm up and give their approval to their relationship.

Even after they miss the first ferry ride to Mokpo, Dong-seok gets them a spot on the next ride and takes care of both Ok-dong and Chun-hui till they reach Mokpo. Dong-seok drops them at the hospital where Man-su is getting treated. Dong-seok doesn’t follow them but tells them that he has already talked with him and they are going to have a drink together. Chun-hui notices that Dong-seok is actually a nice and kind man even though he doesn’t show it.

After visiting Man-su and Eun-gi, Dong-seok takes his mother to his stepfather’s memorial service. However, they find out that his son, Jong-chul has moved to a different apartment. Dong-seok finds it rude that they don’t stay in touch with his mother after she took care of their mother and father for more than fifteen years. Dong-seok doesn’t go inside their house but follows Jong-chul inside when he meets him downstairs.

Dong-seok doesn’t offer respect to his late stepfather and gets into a fight with Jong-chul during dinner. Jong-chul calls Dong-seok a thief and the reason why their father passed away. Ok-dong stops Dong-seok from fighting but tells off Jong-chul for saying that their father died because of him. She tells him every bad thing they did to Dong-seok in the past. She believes that the petty amount of money he stole is nothing compared to how much they harmed Dong-seok.

Our Blues Episode 19 Ending

Dong-seok is surprised to see his mother take his side for the first time in her life. He has a lot of questions to ask her but first, he wants to fulfil all of his mother’s wishes. She wants to visit a village named Madang-ri which has now disappeared. Dong-seok finds out that the place is turned into a reservoir now but still agrees to take his mother there because it is her last wish.

Our Blues Episode 19 Review

Our Blues Episode 19 closes chapters in one’s life. Dong-seok cuts off his and his mother’s ties with his stepbrothers. Yeong-ok finally finds a man and a family who accept her with her past and different family condition. She is no more miserable and alone. Dong-seok is also on his way to get all the answers from his mother.
