Our Blooming Youth Teaser unveils the first look of the upcoming tvN K-drama. This period romance-thriller drama is directed by Lee Jong-jae and the teleplay is written by Jung Hyun-jung. It is slated to be released next month and will take the time slot of weekday drama. Moreover, it is said to be a long series with 20 episodes in total.

The story will follow a crown prince who is enduring a mysterious curse and someday meets a woman accused of murder. While the prince helps clear the woman of the false charges, the woman in return strangely frees him from his curse. This ill-fated connection between the two is the start of a romance that blossoms.

The lead cast of the drama includes Park Hyung-sik as Lee Hwan, the lonely crown prince who is cursed and expresses the character’s tough personality with his cold tone and eyes. Jeon So-nee is Min Jae Yi, a quiet and gentle soul, who is engaged to the Second State Councillor’s son and is studying to become a good wife and mother. Her life is turned upside down when her parents and brother are killed four days before her wedding day.

The other cast includes Pyo Ye-jin in the role of Ga-ram, the most daring maid in the eight provinces of Joseon, and Yoon Jong-seok portrays Han Seong-on, a scarred man who had everything but lost his affection. Lee Tae-sun plays the role of Kim Myung-jin, an eccentric nobleman who dreams of becoming the first inspector in Joseon.

In the short teaser, we see Lee Hwan walking alone in the woods which are full of fog and add to the mystery. Just then out of nowhere, an arrow flies toward him while we hear his voice saying, “Did you hear that too? I am cursed by a ghost. I heard that people are all talking about it.” We also get to see glimpses of the crown prince on his throne and riding the horse.

Soon after we see that Lee Hwan is also drawing the string of his bow towards someone. While we dont know where it’s aimed at but we see a scene where an arrow passes through a woman’s arm, as well as a sword in the air leaving blood stains on a flag. Continuing the dialogue Lee Hwan says that “Even if I am cursed, I will not be shaken.” It shows that his character is determined and will not sit in fear because of his tragically predicted fate.

We didn’t get to see the kind of chemistry between the leads and it will be interesting to see how the two overcome the hurdles of their lives together.
