Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 11 Review Back To Square One

Here, when Taiki learns that he might be Aqua’s half-brother, his reaction takes everyone by surprise. Instead of resistance, he calmly accepts the news and even invites Aqua over for a proper discussion about the situation. This conversation proves pivotal as it finally delivers the long-awaited answer Aqua and the audience have been seeking: the identity of the Hoshino siblings’ father and possibly the individual behind Ai’s death.

However, the revelation is unexpectedly underwhelming, leaving both Aqua and viewers with a sense of emptiness. Has the 15-year-long pursuit of vengeance really come to an end? Can Aqua now move past his bitterness and confront a reality that feels both harsh and unsatisfying? No matter the answer, it’s clear that accepting this truth will be far from easy for our protagonist.

This episode also shines more light on Ruby than we’ve seen in recent times. Her unwavering dedication to her career brings a refreshing dynamic. While she’s still far from reaching the success her brother has achieved, her decision to pursue a career as a pop idol highlights the challenging road ahead.

Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 11 Review Back To Square One

This episode primarily focuses on relationship troubles and their future complications in the life of our hero. Aqua has no need to use his relationships or the people around him anymore, thus, it is only natural that he would want to clear his feelings once and for all.

He knows that Akane is interested in him, though I’m not very sure about his idea about Kana. But, he might know that Kana is interested in him to some degree, considering his kind and considerate treatment of her. And perhaps because he knows there are two girls who are vying for his attention, he decides to steer clear of complicated situations.

His father was someone who two times with his mother, gave birth to him and his siblings, along with all the other problems. Hence, it is understandable why he is wary of the woman angle. There is also another fact that he doesn’t want to tie down anyone with great futures ahead, like Akane and Kana beside him, for no reason. However, a relationship does not involve a single person, and just like that, simply because Aqua wants to end things doesn’t mean the other party desires the same.

When he breaks the news of him finally thinking of moving on from his dark past and hoping for a better future, Akane seems ecstatic. However, the moment she realises more about the whole situation, she starts to dread the fatal disillusion in which Aqua is living. She did not have the courage to confront it nor make Aqua relive the vengeance that he had to endure all his life.

And just like the usual routine with this show, we are left flabbergasted by the conclusion. I had a sneaking suspicion that things were going on too smoothly, and this might not be the end of misfortunes for our protagonists. And I was right, we are back to square one and got delivered another Pandora’s box that crushed all our discoveries and findings into dust.

Verdict

We get a great episode, and the way things are going, I really do not know how we are planning to end this series, considering only two episodes are left for this season to end. But I can already tell that we will not be getting a very satisfied final end as there’s just too much going on for them to cover everything in such a short amount of time.
