A story that could only be told in anime form, Oshi No Ko Episode 9 is the ninth episode of one of the season’s most highly anticipated new anime. Oshi No Ko is a supernatural drama anime being animated by Studio Doga Kobo and based on a manga written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. The episode is also known as My Star Episode 9.
You don’t often get a second chance at life unless you’re one of a thousand different isekai protagonists. Even fewer are born with a lot of privilege in their second chance, much less to the person they adored the most when they lived. So what if she was 16, and you were much older than her? The age difference doesn’t matter anymore because, well, you’re dead. But also because you have been reborn as the son of the same 16-year-old idol.
Gynaecologist Gorou Amemiya did not think his life would turn out to be this way when he agreed to help out his favourite teenage idol Ai Hoshino with her unexpected pregnancy. One thing led to another, and he was dead, only to come back to life again as her son with all his memories intact. He now has the privilege and closeness to Ai that he desires, but the situation is much different now, and for one reason or another, it is impossible to be as close to Ai as he thought.

Oshi No Ko Episode 9 Plot
The previous episode of the show was a rare one where the ending stinger didn’t make it implicitly clear about the direction the show is going to go in this one. Aqua has decided to use Akane’s talents to imitate Ai somehow and has a dinner set with the producer of the show as part of his deal. Again, these are events that we have no idea what they’re going to be like or lead to, but one can imagine that the show should do a decent job of tying things together.
Oshi No Ko Episode 9 Characters
Leaving the issue with Akane and Aqua be for a bit, MEM joining the newly reformed B-Komachi is an interesting decision, but I don’t know where they go from here. This makes Ruby, Kana, and MEM the current members, and if things keep going like they are, MEM should be irrelevant to the plot in little more than an episode, like Ruby has been since Episode 1. Let’s hope we start doing something with this particular plotline soon and fill the ranks up even sooner.

Oshi No Ko Episode 9 Predictions
Aqua is going to have that meeting with the producer, which should give him a better idea of who the murderer of Ai and his father is. Ruby is going to do nothing, as usual, although there should be some interactions between her and MEM.
Oshi No Ko Episode 8 Recap
Aqua gets equal parts amazed and flustered when seeing Akane act like the splitting image of Ai and struggles to deal with his feelings for Ai, as well as his own position as a former adult who is now a teenager. He takes some away time with Kana to centre his thoughts about everything and comes to the conclusion that the feelings he felt towards Akane were just a projection of his love for Ai, and the duo, while ending the show as a couple, decide just to be one for the media.
