One of Us Is Lying Season 2 Ending Explained
In the first season, the members of the alleged bunch tried to clear their name off Simon’s murder, which they had no involvement in. However, the events of the second season make it quite clear that the four high schoolers are actually involved in Jake’s murder (Addy in particular). Moreover, right from the start, all the sophomores received a variety of dares, that threatened to expose their horrifying deed to the public and to the police.
Bronwyn and the team decide to find the real identity behind Simon Says and nail down the blackmailer. In the process, she keeps her little sister Maeve completely out of it, in order to prevent any collateral damage. The mutual exoneration group get on with their investigation and pin down all the possible culprits of the app.
At one point, they even doubt Vannessa, who had surprisingly found all the information about the group. However, the futile suspicion is cleared when they look deeply into Jake’s belonging and find a photograph with a picture of Fiona. This immediately strikes the right chord, as the group dig even deeper into the case.
They come to know about Jake’s history with Fiona, and their time together in rehab. Notably, Jake was a great manipulator and had a secret kind of relationship with Fiona. He even involved her in the murder of Simon, and then later ghosted her completely in public. This is why when Jake gets killed by Addy, Fiona decides to pin all the murder trail on the bunch, and clear her name out of the messy situation.

She was successful in the process until she gets caught with the help of Maeve. It is revealed that the little sister was playing a double game all along, and knew about Jake’s murder. She even made Fiona delete all the footage and evidence, and ultimately caught her in the final act.
The police finally send Fiona to jail, where she is mysteriously poisoned (Which just adds more intrigue to the story). Moreover, the four sophomores decide to never speak of the matter and live the rest of the days in peace. Nate also gifts Bronwyn a necklace and assures a strong relationship further.
In the end, the story shifts to their farewell, where the school is turned into a crime scene. And Brownwyn’s necklace is found lying on the floor. Hinting that something terrible might have happened to the smartest member of the group. Furthermore, this almost confirms that there will be a Season 3 of the murder mystery thriller.
