After the successful release of J-Hope’s documentary J-Hope in the Box and his album Jack in the Box, he is announcing his new single, On the Street. This news comes on the same day BIGHIT Music announced that the band member would be starting his mandatory 18-month enlistment in the South Korean Military. One of the other band members, Jin, has also left for military service, and the Arson artist will join him soon. In order to share some new content about the single coming soon, the record label shared a couple of pictures symbolising the purpose behind this single.
BIGHIT shared that J-Hope wrote this song, speaking about his feelings candidly with the fans. He wants this song to showcase his roots in street dancing and how fans have continuously supported him in his trajectory to become an artist and the path ahead for him. This is also an aspirational track that shares the hope that his fans will continue to work and stay together. Additionally, the artist mentions that this song is meant to be a meaningful gift for his fans.
In the pictures shared by the label and the artist, he is seen walking on a New York-like street wearing a varsity jacket and loose-fitted jeans. The jacket is covered in some street tags and is black and beige. It looks more like high-end streetwear, which is really indicative of the kind of music he is making and the aesthetic he wants to bring forth in the single. Additionally, the polaroid picture gives this homely experience he wanted to share with his fans in the single. J-Hope’s vibrant personality and thoughtful demeanour come through in the photographs.
The news about his military enlistment came as quite a shock to the people and especially fans around him. Along with Jin’s military enlistment, this seems like the beginning of BTS’ entrance to military enlistment. Many of the artists from the band have been making their own music and branching out to collaborate with other bands and artists. The artist Suga has been working under the pseudonym Agust D and has even shared some solo tour dates. RM, too, has worked on a new solo album titled Indigo, in which he has collaborated with multiple artists spanning genres.

A few days ago, the Korean pop artist was also announced as Louis Vuitton’s House Ambassador. He was seen wearing his signature loose-fitted jacket and pants alongside a well-fitted and light-coloured suit. The clothes had interesting patterns and showcased his personality in the fits.
