NCT WISH poppop MV Review: Summer Vibes and the Vibrant Feeling of First Love

On April 14th, 2025, boyband NCT WISH poppop MV was released as the title track to the group’s second mini album of the same name. Giving an innocent, fun, and summer vibe, this song is filled with colours and comes with a youthful energy that makes the listener smile. Additionally, the lyrics and choreography are on point, giving the viewers the whole package filled with entertainment. This song has the perfect summer vibes even when it tells the tale of an innocent first love that becomes the beginning of a new adventure.

NCT WISH is the sixth and final sub-unit of the K-pop group NCT, as well as a Japanese group, consisting of six members. The members, Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo, and Sakuya, formed the band and debuted on February 21st, 2024, and went on to release the single Wish on February 28th, 2024. The group’s latest mini album poppop consist of six tracks namely- poppop, Melt Inside My Pocket, Design, 1000, Silly Dance and Still 3 PM.

poppop serves as the album’s title track and speaks of the dramatic change in one’s worldview that comes from the first feeling of love. From animations to seeing oneself as the main character, and not to forget the flying vibrant colours in one’s surroundings, this music video has it all. It captures all these feelings well, and we are going to discuss this further in the review below. Let’s begin!

NCT WISH poppop MV Review

With energetic Summer vibes and colours that fill you up with joy, this song visualises the feeling of first love in a way that fills you up with happiness. The youthful energy that the members bring only adds to the charm of the song as we find the energy resonating within us when listening to the song. I love the playful vibes hidden in the song that add another touch to the tickling feeling of love, which we can see fluttering around in the music video.

Meanwhile, when talking about the lyrics that set the mood and plot of the song, we have to talk about the one who wrote it. It is none other than the group’s member Kenzie who shows his artistic talent through the lyrics of the song, adding a personal touch to the same. Though we have to say that it is the hook of the lyrics that truly give me the whole Summer vibe where I see myself listening to this song on a beach.

Moving on, we also have to bring our focus on the music video itself, which is a mix of so many things that come together and somehow make sense. We’ve seen this plot in many other music videos where the friends of a guy come together to help him make the first move or reach his date or even meet the person he has a crush on. These boys are holding the mantle well as they take this story and add in their own unique charm, which makes the song worth the watch. This brings me to how well the camerawork is done in this song. I love how I am able to take a proper look at every member of the band and see the charm that they hold. The soft edit of the music video adds to the mood of the song and I am in love with it.

Altogether, this is the song has me interested in the boyband as a whole and has me moving on to check out the other songs of the album. The group has definitely done well and I am excited for what they in store for us.
