My Daemon Review: Discussion

My Daemon Review Navigating Unseen Realms of Friendship and Betrayal in a Colliding World

In a future not far off, a nuclear explosion sets the stage for a memorable tale. Amidst this, young elementary student Kento stumbles upon a small daemon creature he names Anna, taking on the role of her caregiver. The series unfolds as we join Kento and Anna on their adventures, venturing into the unknown as they set out to save Kento’s mother. Together, they navigate the challenges of their extraordinary journey, forging a bond that transcends the chaos around them.

The story starts with Kento doing a presentation of his research and others having a scared expression. Well, we can not blame them as Kento was proudly rambling about the daemon he was raising, a thing that is unthinkable. Even the kind local Nun acts like a crazy lady when she discovers Kento’s pet. It is as if all humans have a natural aversion towards these weird-looking creatures that come with special powers.

The series portrays the nature of human hate towards things they do not know or understand pretty well. We naturally attempt to destroy entities we cannot control and try to subjugate them to do our bidding. But Kento is different. He dotes on Anna, his pet daemon a bit too much, almost like an otaku. But maybe that is because he is affected by the same daemonium particles that make these creatures unique.

While watching the series, you are bound to feel bad for the daemons as they fall prey to the unnecessary and cruel hostility from humans. Some of the human characters are so wicked that you even start to root for humanity’s ultimate doom and want the daemons to be able to live in peace.

The twists in this series come in the form of betrayal from the most unexpected places. You think they are good but then find them do heinous deeds.

So, even though we do have an evil organization that starts a whole mess by going after Kento’s pet, most of humanity can be seen as an antagonistic figure.

The animation depicting the scenery is breathtaking, but the characters look not so good for the apparent use of CGI. The pace of this show is also fast, and the narrative sticks to the essential bits without straying far from the subject matter.

Through his quest with Anna, Kento discovers just how evil the world can be and tries his best to protect those who are near to him. But could he do that? Could he create a world where daemons and humans can work together to survive? You will have to see the series and know for yourself. What I can reveal is that the ending is satisfying to me, and the story delivers an exciting exploration of courage, companionship, and the resilience of the mortal spirit in the face of otherworldly challenges.

Verdict

My Daemon Review Navigating Unseen Realms of Friendship and Betrayal in a Colliding World

This was a fun and entertaining watch that you must watch if you are into dystopian thrillers. The central theme here is friendship, and we see examples of unrestrained and selfless companionships till the end. Those who have a pet dog might feel the same as Kento and might relate to his drive to protect his best friend, who loves him just as unconditionally, if not more.

My Daemon is streaming on Netflix.

  1. Despite this is one of the UGLYIEST ANIMATION EVER SEEN, and there is alot of this kind by netflix, lifeless stiff figures/persons, the faces are waaayy too bright, could had some darker color on some people, its kinda….okies…

The camera work then its moving is shaking and moves slow, its hacks a bit, lifeless empty town except the moving persons/daemon, everything else is frozen solid,

To me i am 10 minutes in first episode and need a break from watching it, need alot of more time to get used to this, my head hurts,

If you are a pokemon fan this is the cheap version, that sister nurse snitching to the evil consul to hunt him down, hate her, she did started it all,

My score: 2.0 of 5, can only watch in small amounts.
